Tut Nut's Snowhouse Card

Snowhouse Card

What you will need:

Paint Shop Pro 7
Eye Candy 4000
Snowhouse.psp
This psp file
Tubes of your choice. They will need to be tiny.
Here are the ones I used if you want them:

Got everything ready?

Ok, open the snowhouse.psp file.

Shift + D to copy, then close the original.

Flood fill the chimney with color of your choice. I used #800000.

Then flood fill the top of the chimney. I used #824000.

Next flood fill the house sections. Here I used #E0B0C8.

Click on the roof with the magic wand tool.

Go to effects, Eye Candy 4000, fur and apply using the following settings:

Next select the side of the house with the magic wand.

Go to effects, texture effects, texture. Select the stucco preset and change settings to:

Repeat for front of the house.

Next select the windows with the magic wand. Go to selections, modify, expand and type in 1.

Hit the delete key on your keyboard. Selections, select none.

Decorate the house with tubes of your choice, adding each tube on a separate layer.
For the things you put inside the windows, those layers will have to be moved beneath the house layer.

*If you use the gingerbread man in the windows like I did, you will have to erase the part of his body that sticks out at the bottom.

Also erase the lettering at the side of the house since you now know where the card will be folded.
When you are finished decorating, go to layers, merge, merge visible.

Add a door knob by selecting your preset shapes tool with the following settings:

Or you could add a dot with your paintbrush tool.

Next use your lasso tool with these settings:

Select some of the snow from your roof like this:

Edit, copy. Edit, paste as new selection and place it on top of your chimney.
*You can use your eraser tool to erase any that you don't want.

Ok, save your image as a psp file.

Now lets make the card.

Open a new image 792 x 612 transparent.

Turn on your guides.

Place your guides in the approximate center of your image.
It doesn't have to be exact.

This is shown much smaller than yours will be.

Click on the house image you just made to activate it.
Then go to edit, copy.

Activate your new image and go to edit, paste as new layer.
Move the image so that the "fold" area touches your guide line. (see image below)

In your layer palette, right click and select duplicate.

Move this house down into your next guide area.

Open the insidearea.psp file. Copy and paste as new layer.

Move it into position beside one of your houses.

Duplicate this layer and move into position beside your other house.

This is what it should look like:

This is just to show you approximately how much room you have to design the back of your card.

All I did on this one was put the tube of the wreath but you do yours however you want.

Then turn off the layers with the white background by clicking on the X in your layer palette.

Now it should look something like this:

Add a new layer. Click on your text tool and add text as desired.

I used a font called Invitation - size 18.

Position the text right over the front of the house making sure that it fits within the image.

Duplicate this layer and move over your other house. Or type in new text for the other one.

Now turn off the text layers.

Ok, finally, let's print our cards. First go to File, Page Setup. Make sure your settings are like this:

Then click ok.

Then just go to file, print. After it has printed, insert your paper back into the printer
as you normally would to print a two-sided card.

Turn off all layers except your text layers.

Select file, print. And print the text part of your card.

Now you have two snowhouse cards.
Cut down the center to separate them.
Then cut around the area shown below.

Next fold at the side of the house and cut out the rest of the house outline.

Now at last you are finished. Whew!

*I would suggest using card stock for printing this.

Now that all the hard work is done, print as many as your want.
