Simply Cute Snowman
The one we will be making is much larger than what you see here.
You can resize it when finished.
What you will need:
Paint Shop Pro
Eye Candy 3.1
My Twig psp file for the arms
Top Hat Shape - Unzip to your preset shapes folder in Paint Shop Pro.
Ok, lets get started.
Open a new image 450 X 625.
Set foreground color to black and background to white.
Add a new layer.
(by the way, you can name your layers as you go if you want to)
Select preset shapes tool, elipse.
Draw large circle near bottom of canvas.
Add a new layer.
Draw another circle slightly smaller than the first one and make it
overlap the first circle.
Use your mover tool to position where desired.
Add a new layer and repeat the last step - drawing another circle
(for the head) and move into position with your mover tool.
Select layer 3 in your layer palette and erase bits of that line.
Make sure you are on layer 4 (head layer) and add a new layer.
Change your foreground color to #C0C0B8 and airbrush underneath the line
that is on layer 2.
Go to effects, blur, gaussian blur using the setting below.
Now it should look something like this.
Add a new layer. Set foreground color to white and background black.
Select the preset shapes tool and draw a circle for an eye.
Move into desired position.
Go to effects, 3D effects, inner bevel.
Select the round preset and apply.
In your layer palette, right click on this layer (should be layer 6)
and select duplicate.
Go to image, mirror. Move into position.
Add a new layer. Set colors to: foreground Black, background White.
Using your preset shape same as before, draw a small circle for the nose.
Apply the same inner bevel except change the width to 1.
Add a new layer. Change foreground to white and background to black.
Still using the preset shapes, elipse, draw a button for the belly.
Go to effects, 3D effects, inner bevel and select the round preset again.
In your layer palette, right click on this layer and select duplicate.
Move into desired position. Repeat this step to make a third button.
Add a new layer. Change foreground to black, background Null.
Select the draw tool using the settings below
and draw a nice smile on his face.
It doesn't have to be perfect. It will give him some character.
Add a new layer. Set foreground color to #FFC0C0.
Select the airbrush tool, same settings except change size to 30.
Airbrush cheeks and nose. Go to effects, blur, gaussian blur, set to 5 and apply.
Add a new layer. Select a color for his scarf. I used #A2BEF2.
Use the draw tool, same settings as before except change size to 25.
Follow the neck outline. Then make another line for the part of the scarf
that hangs down.
It should look something like this:
Go to effects, texture effects, blinds. Use the settings shown below.
Apply again, this time selecting horizontal.
Use the retouch tool, settings below, and soften the edges and corners.
You can also use the eraser tool to remove anything you don't want.
Use the draw tool, change size to 1, to draw fringe on end of scarf.
Then go to effects, 3D effects, drop shadow and use the settings below.
Add a new layer. Using the draw tool, change to size 3, draw a couple lines
to separate the bow of the scarf.
Then go to effect, blur, gaussian blur. Set to 3 and apply.
Add a new layer. Change foreground to white and background to black.
Select preset shapes - top hat. Draw a top hat and move into postion.
Add a new layer. Open the sbTwig.psp. Go to edit, copy.
Highlight your snowman image and go to edit, paste as new selection.
Selections, select none. Move this layer under layer 2.
Right click on this layer and select duplicate.
Then go to image, mirror.
You can use your mover tool or deformation tool to
change the angle or
position of your twigs.
Select layer 2 in your layer palette.
Go to effects, plugins, eye candy 3.1, jiggle.
Use the settings below.
Repeat for layers 3 and 4.
Layers, merge, merge visible.
Resize your snowman according to your needs.
Then give him a nice home and some friends.
