Will of James Jones

    In the name of God, Amen; I  James Jones being sick and weak in body but of perfect sense and memory thanks be to God, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following.

    Item; I give unto my son Joseph Jones now living at school in the town of Heartyford West, the land I bought of Nathaniel Hedgman also the plantation I bought of David Kincade and all my lands that are not tenanted out.

    Item; I give and bequeath unto my 3 daughters Hester, Elizabeth and Blanch Jones to equally divide between them at the Ragged Mountain, the land I bought of James Maxwell and my personal estate to be equally divided between my loving wife Hester Jones, Joseph Jones, and my 3 daughters Hester, Elizabeth and Blanch Jones.

    Item I do appoint my loving wife Hester Jones, Samuel Davis and my son Joseph Jones Executrix and Executors of this my last will and testament.                                      April the 5th, 1744
