I just thought some of you might want to know a little bit about the person who does this web site. I am not originally from this area. My wife is, she graduated from Oceana High School in 1960, you do the math. The math tells you we are "Middle to Old age". I graduated from Braintree, Mass. High School in 1962, followed by 9 years in the United States Navy. I got out of the Navy in 1971 and then was a Professional Firefighter for 23 years in Braintree retireing as a Lieutenant in 1994 after my third back operation. My love for the game of basketball started early following the GREAT Boston Celtic teams of the 50's & 60's. I played varsity basketball in High School making the All-Star team my senior year. Over the years(Navy & Fire Department) I played, coached and ref'd basketball, although I haven't done that for a long long time. After retireing from the Fire Service we moved to Goodview, Virginia. Just over 4 years ago we decided to "Come Home" and moved to Matheny. The wife wanted to go to "One last Indians game" at the old gym so last year during the Christmas tournament I said lets go. We didn't miss a game after that, home or away. The Oceana Indians rekindled my love for the game and I thank them for that. We have continued following the Westside Renegades this year.
I do this web site for one reason and one reason only. To support the kids. To give them recognition for what they have accomplished, whether it is sports(which most of the site is) or some other School activity.
