The Boys baseball and Girls softball season's have begun. I don't know if I will make many games, I go to Smith Mountain Lake as much as I can, but I will do my best to get the write-ups and box score's from the Register Herald. Here are the first.
Boys Baseball
Westside had 11 hits, including a two-run homer by Michael Asbury, in a season-opening 12-2 win over Burch. Asbury, Ryan Maynard, J.J. Waldron and Josh Hall contributed two hits apiece for the Renegades, who play at Mount View at 4:30pm on Friday.

Girls Softball
Stephanie Morgan went the distance, with six strikeouts, for Westside. The victory was the Renegades first of the season. Cherie Duncan struck out 11 in a losing effort for Montcalm. Westside travels to Summers County today.
