Although we are from different schools, we found ourselves sister's of the same sport. From the first time we came together, the competition was fierce yet friendly. When it officiallystarted our first practice was unusual from what we were accustome to. We knew that we had to work hard and be persistent to obtain "Our Goals" for the season. We had to come together as one and be a team in order to be prepared for the challenges we faced, our practices consisted of long hours and hard work. We were soon ready to show our spirit, and give support at our first ever football game as the WESTSIDE VARSITY CHEERLEADERS. We wore our black and silver with great pride. We were loud and peppy, ready to cheer as a team. We kept our hard work and dedication up throughout the season not knowing what will come of it.
Next on our list to top was competition. The question on everyone's mind was "were we ready?" It seemed that everything kept going against us but it finally paid off in the end. It would be our first Regional Competiton where we would go and set the standards of all upcoming squads. We went with great confidence and enthusiasm. We believed that we could do it. As we walked into the gym getting ready to perform, the crowd gave us the support we needed to bring home the title of Region 8 Regional Champions. We then knew that we had made everyone proud of our new Renegade Tradition. As the basketball season rolled around the corner, our team had drawn close to one another and bonded in ways that are unexplainable. We couldn't wait for the first basketball game, so we could 'Show Our Stuff". Words can't describe the adrenaline rush you get when we cheer in front of a ROARING crowd. As the season comes to an end we can look back and reflect on the great memories and experiences that we had throughout the first year together as Varsity Cheerleaders at Westside High
On behalf of the Varsity Cheerleadrs, the seniors would like to thank all the fans and parents for their support throughout the season. We couldn't have made it without you guys. And a special Thanks to coach Rosemary for all your time and dedication you put in the squad and believing in us....From the seniors of 2003, we wish all the rest behind us GOOD LUCK and keep the Renegade Tradition Alive along the rest of your cheerleading journey. Always remember to keep the Renegade Spirit up and wear the black and silver with pride.
Seniors Katie Stone, Amanda Taylor, Brandi Toler and Lindsey Walls.
