to [Ladders]

1) Challenges are played according to the pyramid system.

2) Challenges are played to the left of your position on the same line and to the right of your position on the line above. (i.e. if you are position 40 you can challenge up to position 32)

3) A challenge must be honoured within 2 weeks of being challenged. If the player being challenged is not able to play within the two weeks (for whatever reason, unless injured or pregnant), the challenger may take his/her position on the ladder.

4) Only one challenge per week may be played.

5) Players may not repeatedly challenge the same person on a regular basis. (i.e. a player may only be challenged by the same challenger once a month)

6) Players that are either injured or pregnant will remain on the ladder. They may not be challenged. The challenger may challenge the player below or above, but within the challenge positions available to him/her.

7) If a player injures him/herself after a challenge is accepted, and then cannot play, the game will be awarded to the challenger.

8) League or tournament matches count as challenges (only best of 5 matches, not handicap)

9) New players are allowed two free challenges anywhere on the ladder. If the challenger loses his first challenge he may then only challenge a lower ranked player. If the first challenge is successful then no further free challenges are allowed. If two challenges are played and both matches lost then the player will be placed at the bottom of the ladder.

10) Challenge results, whether won or lost must be forwarded to the committee members responsible for the men’s and ladies ladders.
