AUGUST 2002

The Westview Youth Tournament, sponsored by Foresight Optometrists was launched this month.

The scheduled date for the tournament is Saturday 7th September. There will be 4 sections, namely under 11, 13, 15 and 17. This tournament is for non provincial squash players only. There will be an entry fee of R30 which will give each entrant a T-shirt, goodies bag, lights and balls.
The winners and runners-up will receive medals. There will be a limited number of 32 entries per section. Games will be played on a continuous scoring format for 10 minutes. There will be a five minute warm up before each match. The under 11 and 13 sections will be playing in the morning and the under 15 and 17 will be playing in the afternoon. Foresight will also be sponsoring eight talented under priviliged children to enter the tournament.

The teacher or club that submits the most entries will be awarded with a designer pair of sunglasses donated by Eye Ball Mall, suppliers to Foresight Optometrists.

Entries can either be e-mailed to Karen Schepers at schepers@agnet.co.za or JP Vd Merwe at jp@bvdm.co.za.
When entering please provide the name, school, age, school league (if applicable), contact number, name of teacher and contact number. Entries close on Monday 2nd September.

The R1000 draw and Cheese and Wine was held on Friday 23rd August with a fantastic turnout. Lucky prizes of Castle Lager beer, Brutal Fruit, Castle Lager caps and bottle openers and Amstell Beer glasses were sponsored By SA Breweries.

The main draw was won by Brain Cooper with Caroline Rose and Jacqui Bonnage taking 2nd and 3rd prize respectively.
