Campbell’s Russian Dwarf Colors
Normal
Standard brown coat, black dorsal stripe, and black eyes.
Mottled Normal
Standard brown coat with white patches, darker dorsal stripe or partial stripe, and black or ruby eyes.
Normal Platinum
Standard brown coat with white hairs mixed in and darker dorsal stripe. Sometimes many white hairs and sometimes just a few. The hamster shown is actually a mottled. The solid color has no white on the back and has black eyes.
Dilute Platinum
Also called "black-eyed white." White coat, no dorsal stripe, possibly some gray hairs on head, and black or ruby eyes.
Argente
Cinnamon colored coat, darker dorsal stripe, and red eyes.
Mottled Argente
Same as above with white patches, darker dorsal stripe or partial stripe, and red eyes.
Black Eyed Argente
Cinnamon-tan colored coat, darker dorsal stripe, and black eyes.
Black
Black coat, slightly darker dorsal stripe, white feet and chin, and black eyes.
Mottled Black
Same as above with white patches, slightly darker dorsal stripe or partial stripe, and black eyes.
Opal
Blue-gray color, slightly darker dorsal stripe, and black eyes.
Mottled Opal
Same as above with white patches, darker dorsal stripe or partial stripe, and black eyes.
Opal Platinum
Same as opal, with white hairs mixed in and darker dorsal stripe, and black eyes. Sometimes many white hairs and sometimes just a few.
Dove
This is a combination of black and argente. It has a gray coat, slightly darker dorsal stripe, and red eyes. This one is not mottled, the white on her shoulders comes from the black gene which sometimes produces these markings.
Mottled Dove
Same as above with white patches, slightly darker dorsal stripe or partial stripe, and red eyes. I do not currently have a picture of a mottled dove.
Blue Fawn
This is a combination of opal and argente. It is a blue-tan color, slightly darker dorsal stripe, and red eyes.
Blue
This is a combination of opal and black. It is a gray-blue color, slightly darker dorsal stripe, and black eyes.
Mottled Blue
Same as above with white patches, slightly darker dorsal stripe or partial stripe, and black eyes.
Lilac Fawn
This is a combination of opal and black eyed argente. It is a blue-tan color, slightly darker dorsal stripe, and black eyes.
Beige
This is a combination of argente and black eyed argente. It is a light orange-beige, slightly darker dorsal stripe, and red eyes.
Chocolate
This is a combination of black and black eyed argente. It is a light to medium brown, slightly darker dorsal stripe, and black eyes.
