Syrian Hamster Colors


Golden
Wild, agouti color, golden brown with an ivory belly, dark brown cheekflashes, black eyes, and grey ears. This one is actually a golden banded, a solid golden wouldn't have the white spots on the back. The same hamster is pictured below.



Golden Banded
Same as above with white over the back and around the belly.



Golden Dominant Spot
White coat with golden colored patches, white stripe on the face, and white belly.



Umbrous Golden
Similar to golden but the golden areas are greyer and the ivory areas are grey. This one has long hair.



Black Eyed Cream
Cream colored coat, black eyes, and grey ears.



Sable
Combination of the umbrous gene and Black Eyed Cream, dark brown/black coat with cream undercolor, cream rings around the eyes, black eyes, and dark grey ears.



Sable Banded
Same as above with white over the back and around the belly.



Sable Dominant Spot
White with sable (dark) hairs ticked through the coat, and usually a white blaze on the face.



Cinnamon
Bright orangey coat with blue-grey undercolor, ivory belly, brown cheekflashes, red eyes, and flesh coloured ears. This one is a satin, the normal cinnamon color would look more like the one below without the white.



Cinnamon Banded
Same as above with white over the back and around the belly.



Cinnamon Dominant Spot
White coat with cinnamon colored patches, white stripe on the face, and white belly.



Light Grey
Light grey coat, darker undercolor, ivory belly, dark grey cheekflashes, creamy color around face, black eyes, and grey ears.



Black
Solid black coat, black eyes, black ears, white chin, and white feet. Some have a blue or brown tint to their fur.



Black Banded
Same as above with white over the back and around the belly.



Black Dominant Spot
White coat with black patches, white stripe on the face, and white belly.



Yellow
Yellow coat, lighter undercolor, the coat is ticked with black hairs, black eyes, and grey ears.



Yellow Black
Combination of black and yellow. The tips of the fur are black with the yellow undercolor showing through, black eyes, and grey ears.



Tortoiseshell (Black)
This color is produced by combining yellow with any other solid color (black in this case). The coat is primarily black with yellow patches. Most tortoiseshell colored hamsters are female, and a male is very rare.



Tri-Color
Same as above with white over the back and around the belly.



Dove
Dove grey-brown coat, red eyes, and flesh colored ears.



Tortoiseshell (Dove)
This color is produced by combining yellow with any other solid color (dove in this case). The coat is primarily dove with yellow patches. Most tortoiseshell colored hamsters are female, and a male is very rare.



Tri-Color (Dove)
Same as above with white over the back and around the belly.
