There are so many types of Cell Phone Networks, and technology which one is the best, and why so many?
A: Over the years cell phones have expanded and became better with new technology advances. When the first cell phone
was launched it was on a radio wave transmission called AMPS or Analog Cellular technology. The quality can be very poor
and security is very bad on these networks. Analog is not so bad after all in some places its the only option plus AMPS have been implemented almost every where in the US. The next Networks work on digital signals,  TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access), CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access), GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications), Motorola's IDEN services based around the TDMA network setup! Which one is the best for you! Well if your the type that travels to major cities only then are all good for you. If you travel everywhere from the small towns to the major cities I recommend TDMA. TDMA is already deployed in many areas and is the only true digital deployed system in the states. CDMA's deployment is slow where there are small towns and open country. If your the type that would like to use there phone in stores and malls and want 100% good reception then TDMA and AMPS is where its at. I found that lower frequencies in malls and stores pick up the best signals example AMPS 800 MHz, TDMA 800 MHz, and CDMA 800 MHz.. Since CDMA and GSM use little power transmitting on the phones end there signals tend to fade out rather quickly compared to TDMA and AMPS but  CDMA , GSM, and IDEN phones tend to have more talk time and battery life.

Question:
Ok I decided to buy my first phone but what's the differences between Prepaid and an actual account?
A: Well prepaid accounts tend to be better for some people, no monthly bills or contracts.  The downside you get little features or basic features like Voice mail, Caller id, call waiting, call forwarding, and with some providers three way calling! But with major providers prepaid seems to be a waste of money for example take the amount of their prepay cards example if a $25.00 prepaid card gives you 56 minutes (Minutes will vary due to cents a minutes) do this take 25 dollars times two 50.00 to recharge up if your the type to talk all the time, look at that im sure they have a post plan that's about 30 something dollars and comes with Free nights and weekend minutes or with Cingular Wireless unlimited minutes plus now that your a account holder you get all the services and feature like the wireless web, two way text messaging,  and Roaming out of your home area. Makes you look at prepaid very differently huh!

Question:
Ok now that I understand what is best for me what type of phone should I get there are so many!
A: If you go with TDMA provider then I would recommend a phone that has options like ring tone downloads, screen saver downloads, and a phone with a good battery talk time like 3 hours talk time and standby time about 6-8 days. Motorola on other types of networks are popular due to their features and integrated web browser WAP 1.1.  When selecting a phone get one that looks good to you, has features you like, and has the talk time you want to serve your needs.

Question:
Ok lets talk features what feature do I really need any why?
A:
One feature you may want to look at is two way text messaging why? With text messaging and some providers you can have the option to send messages to other phones on your network (Only if you have other friends, or family on the same provider as you) or you have the option to send your message to an E-mail address. Text messaging can come in handy in concerts, musical performances, any where when you can not talk at the time. Wireless internet services, be able to check your online e-mail, play online WAP games, get info about weather, stocks, online auctions, find food places in your area, get directions to where your going, driving on the interstate just type in which direction you are heading and it can tell you what restaurants, hotels, gas stations are coming up and their exits. Road Side assistance, this feature can come in hand if you run out of gas just call your provider on your cell phone and they will send someone with free gas to help you get going its very cheap for only 2.99 a month plus they have more services in roadside ask when you go shopping! Wireless handset protection, ever dropped, broken, or lost your phone no matter what the problem your provider will replace your phone for you no matter what the problem is free of charge.

Question:
I decided to go with prepay so what should I look for exactly?
A: When shopping with prepaid look for CDMA providers they tend to be cheap rate dealers. Look for not major providers like Cricket wireless, PrimeCo, and other look in your town for local providers. Also ask for the rate a minute with prepaid. Most providers will tell you if you pay higher amount payment or card your rate will be lower. This is true then you will get more for your money but you may have to pay 75-100 to get that type of rate. But look for a rat or 25-38 cents a minutes to get your moneys worth. Also when you call some some try to talk up 1 minute, most providers will charge you a full minute for just calling some one and saying hi and hang up less than 10 sec.

Question:
Ok I decided to be an account holder what plan should I choose?
A: You have the choice of Local, National, and Midwest, Mideast, North Eastern, Southeast plans. Go for Local if your the type not to travel out side of you state, choose national if  travel every year some where out side of your state you don't want to be charged roaming rates, the Midwest, Mideast, North Eastern, Southeast plans are good if you travel say surrounding states of your area.

Question:
I'm a small business owner our company travels from the big city to the smaller towns what phone should we choose?
A: I would select a TDMA provider and one rate/national plan.

Question: I want a prepaid but I would like a cool phone and neat features!

A: Get Nextel's prepaid service boost mobile. Its excellent service and really cool!

More to come! Hope this helps you select the right cell phone for your needs!
