~*Chapter 2*~

Nick and Blane were sitting on the couch in the hotel room. They were alone, because everyone else had decided to go out while there was some free time. Nick and Blane had decided to stay behind, stating they wanted some alone time, something they rarely ever had these days. Blane turned to Nick and ran her fingers through his hair, which he had recently cut short and spiky. "The show tonight went real well," she told him. He nodded. "Yeah, it did. I'm surprised the guys wanted to go out afterward. I thought they'd want to go right to sleep. Sounds good to me right now," he remarked. She leaned over and gently brushed her lips against his. "Sounds good to me too," she said, and sighed as she ran her fingers through her hair. "It's been a long day." He reached over and pulled her closer to him. "Are you ok? You've been kinda quiet all day, and that's not like you," he remarked. She nodded and drew in a shaky breath. "Yeah. It's just being away from my family is real hard," she told him. She gazed at him. "Nick, we've been together almost a year now, and I haven't been completely honest with you about certain things." He gazed back at her. "What do you mean, Blane? You know you should never be afraid to tell me anything. I love you no matter what," he said. Blane took a deep breath. "While I was growing up, my dad wasn't too good to me or my mom. He was very abusive to both of us. That's why when I turned 17, I ran away from home. That's how I ended up here." Nick squeezed her hand and gently ran his finger across her cheek. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?" She shrugged. "I was afraid if I told you, you wouldn't want to be with me anymore. And I couldn't stand the thought of losing you. I love you so much. "She began to cry then, and he folded her into his arms. "I love you too, baby. Don't ever hide anything from me because I'll be here for you no matter what," he whispered in her ear. She pulled away and looked at him. "How was I ever so lucky to find you?" she murmured, and he reached over and wiped the tears from her cheeks. Then he kissed her. "Stay tonight," he whispered, as they continued to kiss. She returned his kisses, and she could feel him rubbing his hand up and down her back. She melted into his embrace, and they fell back on the couch, continuing to kiss. Their tongues explored each other's mouths, and a moment later, when he reached up to unhook her bra, she pushed him away. "Nick, we cant," she whispered, sitting up and straightening her shirt. Nick groaned. "Why not?" he asked, looking into her eyes. She ran her fingers through his hair. "Because I don't think either one of us is ready for such a big step. "She leaned over and kissed him, then stood up. "I better get going. I'm exhausted." He watched her leave, then flopped back on the couch and let out a huge sigh.
