AUDITIONS TO BE HELD FOR NEXT MUSICAL

Following the success of Guys and Dolls, Mel Bell and his team are preparing to produce another musical.

They have chosen the exciting and modern ‘Working’. This show has been hailed in theatres from Broadway to Melbourne and contains a host of modern pop, country rock, jazz and blues numbers. Modern musical icons such as James Taylor and Stephen Schwartz (Prince of Egypt, Godspell) have written the songs. The script was adapted from a book by Studs Terkel and tells the stories of some ordinary and some not so ordinary working folk and covers a range of emotion from comedy to the serious.

‘Working’ has an ensemble cast and a vast array of characters. There is truth and honesty in every one of them and all members of the audience will say, "That’s just how I feel".

The production team is the same one that brought ‘Guys and Dolls’ and ‘Raise the Roof ‘ to the stage.

Auditions will be on Sunday 15th of December at 2pm and rehearsals will commence in January 2003.

All actors, singers and musicians who wish to be a part of this exciting modern and vibrant show can contact:

DR GEOFF GIBBS

Who remembers seeing the wonderful production of "On Our Selection" in November 1999? Those of you who were lucky enough to be involved in it would surely never forget working with the formidable Dr Geoff Gibbs. As the Professional Director for that production, the cast and crew gained invaluable experience working with this Australian renowned thespian.

Dr Gibbs was awarded an Order Of Australia in the June Queen’s Birthday Honours list for his services to theatre.

Congratulations from all at the Bijou!!
