First off, before I even begin this summary(TOO LATE!) I would like to note that this is the only one of the "Dragonball" films that has been edited. Unfortunately, it's been at least five years since I saw the original and that was a friend's copy, so listed below this is a brief summary of the kind of things that were cut since I am unable to list them in detail. ON WITH THE SUMMARY. This is probably one of the best of the 17 DB/DBZ films and, as Helen McCarthy put it, a "taster" of sorts of Toriyama's uniqur world and humor. Basically it re-tells the first 13 episodes(The 1st story arc) of "Dragonball". Now, as for the dub..I LIKED IT! I REALLY LIKED IT! Edits aside, it was good. This was used by FUNimation as a pilot for the series. Really, I can understand cutting some of the scenes out, once you've seen this film, you've basically seen the whole first dubbed season. Of course in that case, why use this as the pilot anyway?! Sigh, if only the rest of FUNimation's dubs lived up to this...By the way, for those of you who bought the FUNimation tape "Dragonball Z: Z Warriors Prepare", you may find it interesting to note that the sequence they showed on that tape telling about the myth surrounding the Dragonballs is actually the opening scene to the dubbed version of this movie. Notice how the announcer sounded SO much more interested in what he was saying. One other thing, since this movie was editted, isn't it interesting that on the box art you can see Kamesennin looking up Bloomer's skirt?(LOOK ABOVE)
