WHAT IF FUNIMATION CONTINUES DRAGONBALL?

What If? What if indeed. Chances are that FUNimation WILL continue it eventually. By all accounts, these people were nothing until they bought the rights to these two series so I doubt that they will just waste all the money that they used to buying the rights by never doing anything with it. But if they do, several problems will show up.

First, the censoring, DB has much more stuff objectionable to overly protective Americans than DBZ, mainly in the form of sexual humor. In fact if they start dubbing, on the first new season they'll have two problems right off. 1-Lunch. Since Cartoon Network is pretty easy going about guns, I'm sure she'll be allowed to constantly blast at everyone, but the problem comes in the form of why she's there in the first place. Kamesennin wanted a really hot girl to stay with him, almost like a willing sex slave. Now, obviously FUNimation won't do this, they'll probably say "Go rescue a maiden in distress!" or something like that. Which would nearly make sense seeing as how Kuririn and Goku rescue this hot bank-robber from the police when they first meet her. Unfortunately, this will mean that several jokes will be cut(Kamesennin trying to lift her skirt up with a chopstick from underneath the table is still classic.) reducing Lunch to seeming like a doormat and leaving everyone's favorite perverted, old man well..just old. 2-The 3rd match in the Tenkaichi Budokai in which a female fighter named Ran Fuan's strongest technique is "Sex Fu".(She fights wearing just underwear forcing moralistic Namu to close his eyes and be open to attack.) Now cutting the match would make absolutely no sense being that in the Tenkaichi Budokai there's 8 fighters in 4 quarter-final matches. Not even FUNimation would be that stupid(or would they?) so chances are they might digitally turn her underwear into a swimsuit or something. Sounds stupid and isn't really that much different, but hey, it worked on "Tenchi Muyo".

FUNimation will also have to deal with the fact that they basically rewrote the entire "Red Ribbon Army" story in a recent DBZ flashback. Are they going to try and cover they're asses by saying that Red Commander is Dr. Gero? That TaoPaiPai is actually not a hired assassin but a general? Worse yet, during the Red Ribbon story we'll be forced to hear Karin's horrible dub voice for lengthly periods of time!(He makes his 1st appearance there.) And after that, they'll have to deal with calling Chaozu a prince. There's no possible way(that I can see) that they can make that lie seem true. Unless of course they put in footage from DB Movie 3 and call it a flashback. SHUDDER... And finally, we must consider the voices. FUNimation has this incredibly irritating habit of choosing a wrong voice for a character and sticking with that decision.(There's no reason that once they moved voice recording in-house that they couldn't have given Freeza a guy's voice!) In the flashbacks in DBZ, they've used some awful voices for some characters. I do not want to hear Piccolo Daimao sound like he's on a steroid overdose AND having an ulcer at the same time. On the other hand, TaoPaiPai's voice souned decent. Can you think of anything else they could screw up? E-mail me if you can. Better yet, tell me how you think they would cover it up. I need something to laugh at.
