Review of Dragonball Episodes 86-90
Prior to these episodes, the only Dragonball I had seen were those 13 English dub episodes, so seeing these Jap. episodes was new for me...
The voices were great. I was a big fan of Yamucha's VA. And the BGM and dialogue just seemed and felt much more serious than the episodes of the American version. I don't really think there's much more to say about the voice acting/BGM/dialogue other than I really enjoyed it.
But what really appealed to me most about these episodes was the background that it gave to all the human characters. It was cool seeing them be something useful instead of DBZ where they just get thrown out of the battle in 5 minutes. Chaozu kinda' creeped me out though, and Tenshinhan was a mean fella'.
But I will definitely be purchasing FUNimation's DVDs of Dragonball now, ( if they contain the original Japanese show, like DBZ) and these tapes helped play a roll in that decision.
