After the doctors told him that he had two broken ribs, he finally got him to tell AJ how Lynsey was. Their slide across the icy street that had ended with AJ's broken rib, also ended in Lynsey's concussion and unconsciousness. She still hadn't woke up.
He reached her room and slowly opened the door. He stepped inside and saw her laying unconscious on the bed with a bandage around her head.
He tried to tell himself that it wasn't his fault. He'd tried to remember that she would have been much worse off if he had done nothing but he couldn't help but feel partially responsible for the condition she was in now.
He walked over to the bed and sat down in the chair next to it. When he was seated, he leaned forward and took her hand in his.
"I don't know how it's possible but I think I'm already falling in love with you. I've been with women for years and never felt anything for any of them and now I've only known you for a day but it seems like a lifetime." He brought her hand to his lips and brushed a soft kiss across her fingertips before whispering softly. "You're God's gift to me, Lynsey, and I don't intend to give you up without a fight."
He sat with her for hours, he wanted to be there when she woke up. When he found himself getting sleepy, he tried to fight it. He felt like he was losing the battle so he did the one thing he could think of to keep himself awake. He sang.
He brought her hand to his lips before he started to sing to her.

When he finished, he looked up at her face and his heart lurched when he saw her beautiful cat eyes staring back at him. She squeezed his hand and he saw that her eyes were filled with tears.
"Thank you, AJ." she whispered.
"Lynsey!" AJ whispered fiercely as he stood and kissed her lips softly. "I was so worried about you." He pulled back and looked into her beautiful eyes. "Lynsey, I--"
She stopped him with a finger on his lips. "I know, AJ." she whispered, "I love you too."
