Wandering through the corriders of the Dragonry....

You've just begun to wonder if you've gotten yourself very lost when a door opens in front of you and a girl pops out, colliding with you. "Watch where you're going! I can't put one foot in front of another these days, can I?" You're about to protest when you realize that the girl's remarks aren't addressed to you but to the small bundle of fur that rolled out of the doorway with her. You're sigh of relief is short lived, since the girl fixes her steely glare on you next. "Are you a new candidate? I'm Gessamine, by the way. And the furball over there is Telgar- or whatever I call him when he gets in the way, which is always. Want to come in?" Gessamine holds the door open, and you walk in, nearly tripping over Telgar. You're beginning to see the problem with the feline. Gessamine lights a few glows, and then sits at the table in the center of the room, picking up an unfinished wall hanging. You glance around the room as she settles herself, noticing the predominantly stone furniture. Most of it is covered by some sort of padding, all except a large stone couch towards the back. Interested, you turn back to your hostess to ask about the couch, and notice her gazing steadily at you. In the light you can see the girl's sharp features more clearly. Her gray eyes are her most prominant feature- and a little unnerving as well. She has shoulder-length black hair knotted into two thick ropes that keep it out of her face. Dressed in the white robes that candidates traditionally wear, she wasn't pretty, but she was striking.

"So you're not a candidate, just a visitor?" You nod, wondering at this turn in the conversation. "You may have already guessed that I'm a candidate here at the Dragonry- I was searched a few weeks ago from my father's hold. He was thrilled. Needs all the connections he can get to rise up in the world. My mother was happy for me, but she didn't want me to go. She came with me and stayed to help me settle in- that's how I got Telgar. Mother thought he'd keep me company. That's one word for it, I guess." She frowns down at Telgar, who is presently washing his paws. "Now I just get to wait until all the other candidates are assembled and the clutch hatches. It's taking forever...and I'm very short on patience. So to keep me sane I'm trying to make this place a little more habitable. I love to weave- everyone says I'm good at it. If I hadn't been Searched I probably would have been apprenticed to the Weaver Crafthall. So I'm making wall hangings and furniture coverings. Do you like it?" Gessamine holds up her just finished hanging and you admire it. "Here." The girl folds it up and hands it to you. "It's yours. I mean it, take it with you. I have many more." Thrilled with the gift, you thank Gessamine profusely before continuing on.
