Day One
I bet you will never guess what happened to me! I’m a candidate at ___ Weyr! I can barely contain myself. I want to whop and hollar so the whole world will know! My father, Kl’tar, he’s so proud. My mother, Latai, she was crying! She impressed a green at her third time on the sands and my father impressed a blue. I just can’t believe it. I can barely hold the pen! I think that I’m shaking! Am I? Anyway, I just can’t believe it! -Khetla Day 2 I have moved into my weyr, and I have found out that being a candidate is not all the glory that people give it credit to be, for one thing, I miss my friends. At least Spark, my canine, is here. Most of the other candidates have fire lizards and I don’t. I just don’t see why having a fire lizards is so important to them. Oh well, I guess that having a flit would be great, but not as great as impressing a dragon. Do you think I’ll impress? I don’t know. Oh, Spark needs to be walked, so I’d better go. -Khetla Day three Tyasta gave me the “You’d better make some friends” lecture again. Oh, I wish I could, but I’m just so afraid to talk to them. I’m not proud, as in snobby proud, at least I don’t think I am. I just don’t know what to do. But to get over that, You would never guess what happened to me today when Spark and I were walking. I came upon a fire lizard’s clutch. All the eggs had hatched except for this small blue, a baby blue, and I impressed him! I never saw any flit so beautiful. I guess that's what everyone says about there flit, but it is true. His color has to make him differnt and special amoung his kind. I'm sure that it was a golds clutch, because greens only produce more greens.I was kinda afraid that a queen would try to kill me when I took the egg. I named him Fellis, because that was the only fruit I had on me at the time I impressed him. Oh, It’s late and my glow is burning low so I’d better call it a night. Well, I think the next time I’ll write to you is after the hatching, to tell you if I impress. -Khetla Main story |
