KC SAT's 1-10
#1, Our first one. I know it is just a pin, but it does serve some function. It was launched between 1993 and 1995. This one was attached to one balloon. Launched in the evening. (KCS1)
#2 Yes the grand old second one. This one was on one balloon, and it flew the best. It was almost like a movie. Our enemy neihbors were trying to shoot it down as it flew over the junior high school. Fuction: Report loc, and weather. Launch date, Summer 1994.Actually sent back a weird signal. (LW78)
#3 Our third one. I don't remember when this one was launched but I think this one was the holloween one (right after the one above). Function: report location, fix other sats, and when it popped. Used two balloons. One had a pin to refill a midair dying balloon. (F614)
#4 A horrible launch date and time caught up to this one. It was launched on a windy day at night. It had two balloons, and was two heavy. It flew down to our fence then dissapeared. I think this one was launched in the Spring of 1995, but then again it was sleeting out so I dont know. Function: Report location. (L961)
#5 In the wake of the 4 tragedy, we tried again with one balloon. It worked this time. Launch date Summer 1995 (I think). Same function as above. (L962)
#6 Fall 1995. A very good launch, but it would be the last for a couple of years. Function: Report weather. (TW8723)
#7 Winter 1997. Nice launch. Worked out perfect. Launched on a slightly windy day. Function: report location. (W3217)
#8 Summer 1998. This was the only one launched in a river. Its functions included water temp, location, and weather. Very nice launch. Launched in the North Platte River during a beer festival. (RIV1)
#9 Winter 1998. This one is on tape somewhere. It was a cold winter day and snow was on the ground. I think this one was the only one to go relatively straight up. Functions: temp and location. Almost the same model as #6 (TL8724)
#10 Summer 1999. Last one launched in Casper. Nice launch at night. this one is also on tape somewhere. Function: Location measurement. (L8721)
WPK Sat's 11-12 (13 to be anounced)
#11 Oct 17th, 1999. First one launched in Green River. Caught on tape, and proffesionally edited and even put on Manuters. Carrying the first circut board (not shown), this was a revolution for WPK's current systems. Functions included time/date/location measures. (M099)
#12 Our most recent spectacular launch, all caught on tape. At first it seemed like it was two heavy, but all of the sudden, a gust of wind picked up and blew it north. The weather rained a little bit after the launch, so if it got wet, it wen't down until dry. Functions where to tell location, but no word has been heared from the craft yet. This means it went farther then I expected, so I'm guessing that it is either somewhere east of Rock Springs, or north of here out of the four mile range. On tape somewhere. Launch date 10/10/00. (LR00)
#13 Unlucky thirteen is in its building stages. I can say that it too has a circut board out of an old transceiver, hooked to a thermometer, a GPS tracking system (sketchy at this point), and an old WWB Receiver watch, which will transmit temp, time, and location. Also will be guided by a blinking led hooked to a half dead watch battery no longer needed. This launch will be filmed, and possibly put on Manuters 2nd (unlike 12). It plans to also have some kind of steering device, like a cardboard fin to help push it east. Possibility of more than one balloon. Launch is set for Nov 2001 but it could be called off at any minute, as supplies are limited. (WLT01)
