After work Kristen went home to an empty apartment. She took a shower and got ready and began cooking italian chicken and fetticini. It was eight fifteen when AJ arrived at Kristen's. "Thank you so much for cooking dinner for me tonight. I'm starving after rehearsals," AJ said.
"When did rehearsals end?" Kristen asked.
"About half an hour ago."
"Well that explains why Nick hasn't called yet. How long did you guys have to rehearse for?"
"About nine hours." Kristen set the food on the table and they began eating. "This is really good, Kristen."
"Thanks. Why did they work you so hard? I mean nine hours of singing and dancing is a lot. I would never be able to do it."
"We're trying to find replacement dancers. After touring in the US and over in Europe a lot of dancers wanted to get back home. Be with their families and things like that. You should listen to Kevin and try out for dancing stuff. You might even be able to be one of our dancers. That way you could be with Nick when we leave to go on tour next week."
"Excuse me? What do you mean next week?"
"Nick didn't tell you that we are touring up in Canada starting next week?"
"No. No he didn't. I usually keep up with stuff like that on you guys but I guess I just lost track of it all."
"I can't believe Nick didn't tell you. I would have thought he would have told you last night. You okay?"
"I'm fine. I'm just a little upset that Nick didn't tell me and that you guys are leaving next week. How long will you be gone?"
"Not very long at all. Probably about a month maybe longer. They might add more dates in the US."
"I thought they already did add more dates and you guys already performed those concerts."
"We did but they might want to put more dates in after Canada."
"How do you guys do all that?"
"We're used to it. I'm sort of hoping they don't add more dates. I don't want to disappoint any fans but this is our first world tour and it puts a lot of work on us."
"I'm going to miss you and Nick when you're gone you know," Kristen said.
"Try out to be a dancer and if you make it you won't have to miss us."
"You know I can't do that. I have school and work. I can't just drop it all."
"That's true. School is important. Don't drop it. You're upset now aren't you?" AJ asked.
"Yes. I mean Nick and I just started dating yesterday and now he's going to be going on tour. That will be a little hard."
"I know, I've been there before. You never really can get used to it. It always hurts. Angela will be in the same boat with Brian as you are in with Nick. Angela will help you deal with it."
"I hope so. I've had a boyfriend before where he lived in another state and I would only see him about every two or three months. I thought it was going to kill me."
"Is that what made you break up?"
"Oh no. I went to visit him. He didn't know about it because I wanted to surprise him. I had met up with his room mate when I got there and he gave me the key to his place and said he would stay somewhere else. I went to his place that night and found him cheating on me with someone else."
"I'm sorry. That had to hurt."
"He was the first guy that I ever fell in love with. I was miserable. Nick is the first guy I've dated since him."
"All I can say is that guy was stupid to cheat on someone as sweet and beautiful as you are."
"Thanks AJ." The phone rang just then but Kristen didn't get up to answer it.
"Do you want me to answer that?" AJ asked.
"No. Just let the answering machine pick it up. If it's important they will call back."
"True." They finished eating dinner and just sat at the table talking for awhile when there was a knock at the door. Kristen got up to answer and saw Nick standing there.
"Hey Nick," Kristen said standing on her toes to give him a kiss.
"Hey you didn't answer the phone so I decided to stop by and see what was up," Nick said then saw AJ sitting at the table that had a finished meal on it that was cooked for two. "What the hell is he doing here?!?" Nick yelled shocking both Kristen and AJ.
