Malta Lodge #17

Thermopolis, WY

Trestle Board

Trestle Board items will now be addressed on a separate sheet. Please refer to the Proposed Scheduled of Annual Events list, enclosed.

Please take note of the additional enclosures with this mailing. Included are a proposed yearly schedule and a "Things to Be Done" list. All things are tentative and we are seeking input from all brothers.

Awards

Earl Voorhees was awarded a plaque as a small token of 53 years of Masonic service. Earl has been Tyler for so long nobody seems to remember when he started! His sons, Jerry and David, who are both Masons, and his wife Thelma, who is in OES, were all present. Earl and Thelma have been married for 69 years.

Highway Clean-up

Twelve people helped with the clean up on Sept. 16th. There was a picnic held afterward and 58 people attended. All appendant bodies were invited. Sharon Johnson did an excellent job making sloppy- joes.

Grand Lodge

Grand Lodge presented Malta Lodge #17 with the Master Builder Award. Congrats to all brothers, and PWM Dan Rowe for their efforts!

Eric Kay received an award for his dedication to promoting Masonry on the Malta Lodge website.

Local radio station KTHE was presented a certificate for their support in Masonry!

New Education Program

A new ed. Program has been started through Grand Lodge by Past Grand Master George Smith and co-authored by current GM Bryce Lundell and Kit Carson.

It promises to be an excellent educational tool for new candidates, helping them both before and after receiving their degrees. Malta Lodge #17 has been chosen as one of the trial lodges in the state.

Firemen Honored

The firemen that helped fight the Thermopolis fires this summer are to be honored at the October 26th meeting. The Moonlight Madness taco dinner will also be held that night.

Different groups will be honored throughout the year. It is an excellent public relations tool to expose groups to our lodge.

Thinking Ahead!

The lodge will be celebrating its 100-year charter anniversary, in Sept. 2001. If anyone has any suggestions on how to celebrate this great milestone, please contact WM Tim Lippincott.

A Hearty Thanks!

I want to thank all for the help in our lodge endeavors so far this year. Everyone helping to fill in chairs, those helping others to lodge, and all of the other jobs that are getting done are deeply appreciated.
