1970 'Cuda Restoration

This is my 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda that I was restoring. Unfortunatly, I lost the garage space I had planned for the winter, so it had to go :-(. Below is a day by day explaination of what I had done so far. Hopefully this can help someone else who is in the same boat as me, also if I need any help feel free to e-mail me to help me out! Thanks!

7/7/99 – Bought the ‘Cuda. Had fun on the way home, the altinator went dead and the guy I bought it from happenned to have another one laying around. The two hour trip home (in the dark) was especially fun, not!

7/9/99 – Got it cleaned up a bit. You can still see that it needs a new rear quarter panel, new front valence, and a new grill, among other things.

7/13/99 – Went to get the emissions test and failed :-(. The guy said that a good tune-up and it should pass. Replaced the back-up lights and the front parking lights. The back-up light STILL don’t work (I am lost on that one...) and the parking lights are doing some really weird things. The right one works with the lights on, but doesn’t work with the turn signals. The left one is vice-versa. Any ideas?

7/16/99 – Got a good look at the carb and figured out that it is not the stock one! It is a Holley 600cfm double pumper. It is also a manual choke (which I had already figured out, boy is it annoying to stay around for 5 minutes for this thing to warm up!).

7/18/99 – Went to the Sunbust car show in Graham, WA. Lots of good cars, wish I could have bought some stuff at the swap meet but the price of the ‘Cuda has drained my dry! Got some pics of some ‘Cudas and got some ideas how to fix my wiring mess

7/19/99 – Replaced the spark plugs, and boy are my knuckles sore! I messed around with the parking lights again and now they both work with the turn signals, but they both don’t work with the lights on! I am SO confused...

7/20/99 – Washed it again (it rained a few days ago...), and got the new sparkplug wires. Runs great now! Had a bit of a scare when it wouldn’t start after I had washed it and replaced the wires. After a while (and some panicing), I figured out that the choke had closed. Opened it up and charged the battery and it ran great! I also tried to fix the rear bumper guard, but I gave up after an hour.

7/21/99 – Died on brother at friend’s house. Needs new battery. Looks like I need to charge the battery before I go anywhere.

7/23/99 - Got it to pass emissions! Their is a god! It started right up for me this morning, so I don't know if the battery is gone or not. The date on the battery is 9/94, so it may be time.
