Prerov with Vanessa
Here is Vanessa's  look at the two days we
spent at Prerov...
Prerov is one of the beautiful little towns that we visited while in Czech.  We led the Afternoon meeting there one Sunday, and it was wonderful to see the people, even though the group was small, worshipping God in their own language.  It was also great to see that the Corps cares so much about it’s children.  This was demonstrated by a string of flowers hung around the room, each with the name of a child on it to remind the people to pray for them.

On the next day we went back to Prerov, and joined forces with the Czech Service Corps team, to entertain a group of Gypsy kids with games, songs and lots of laughs!  It was devastating to see where these children live, and how in need they were, but they were still so happy and full of life when they were received the smallest bit of attention, that the whole team felt as rewarded as with the kids by the end.

After an afternoon of fun and fellowship over lunch most of the team went sightseeing while Karen, Jodie and Vanessa went back to Prerov Army to speak with 3 ladies representing the Mayor of Prerov, who wanted to know what the Army was like in Australia, and how much support they got from the Government.  They then shared what their visions were for the Army in Prerov were, and to increase knowledge and understanding of this, they had a TV camera there, and a newspaper reporter and photographer too.

A lot of laughs were had over dinner as we ate pizza and talked with the people from Prerov.

We went on a prayer walk after dinner, and could really feel God’s presence with us, as we prayed for the people of Prerov, and different places in the town.

Moravian Statue

One thing some of us saw that amazed us, was a statue of a man holding a Bible, in the middle of the old town square.  This was so amazing, because during Communism, anything religious was torn down, and it was a miracle to see it still standing, after all this time.

To finish our time in Prerov, we were prayed for, by a group of people standing around us in a circle with their hands on us.  It was a special experience for us all.
