"Who's going to play guitar?"Bill asked.
"Ike will. He may not be in the group, but he says he'll play for us,"I answered.
"OK. So we have 2 people in the group who plays insterments and everybody else is going to dance,"Bill said.
"Yeah. And the dancers are going to have to make up some dances for the songs. We now have 8 songs. Now we need to think of a name for the group,"I said.
"Yeah. Let's think about the name for now,"Jen said.
We all thought of a name, and some of us argued. Then Nathan broke up the arguement with a suggestion.
"How about 'Crazy 8' since there are 8 of us, and we're all basically crazy,"Nathan suggested.
"I like it. Anybody else agrees?"I said.
Everybody else agreed to Crazy 8. So Crazy 8 was the name of our group. Then we started coming up with dance movements. We had made a tape a few days before Hanson left to work on their album so that the dancers could make up the movements.
All month of June while Hanson was busy recording, we were coming up with new songs. I started working on some of the keyboard parts for the new songs while Nate figured out the drumming. My parents decided to let us have the garage. It was all cleaned out, and everything was put in the shed we had in my backyard. Now we had a studio. My keyboards were in it along with Nathan's drum set. Dad built shelves in there so we could put our notebooks and other stuff on it. There was also a small desk in there for us to use. Nathan put his recorder in the garage too.
In July, we were still working on the songs. We then had 8 songs written, and we were still working on the music. That week, Hanson had a break so they decided to help us out. They came over with a guitar. We were all in the garage working out the music parts again. Ike worked out the guitar parts for us. Tay helped me with the keyboard while Zac halped Nate with the drums. We got 2 news songs all figured out, and we liked it. Nate and I told Ike we wanted to record the new songs, and he said we could do do it soon before Hanson left again.
"We're doing pretty good so far now!"I said smiling.
"Yeah! Maybe if we can, we could send out demo tapes to record companies and try to get a deal,"Nathan said.
"Yeah, but we're still working on the new songs,"Bill said.
"We could send Mercury Records a tape for you guys,"Ike said.
"Perfect. We'll make a tape in a while, probably after I get home again,"I said.
"What do you mean Meghan?"Zac asked me.
"On July 10th, I'm going to my gandparents' house for the week. My cousins are going to be there too,"I said.
"Oh! Have fun then!"Zac said.
"When are we getting MOE?"Jenny asked.
"Any day now. We did send it out a few weeks ago,"Tay said.
"Yeah. Maybe tomorrow!"I said smiling.
"Cool! Can't wait for it!"Jenny said.
Everybody except Hanson went home. Hanson and I were still in the garage. I was smiling.
"What are you smiling about?"Zac asked me.
"Nothing except, Lucy is not moving now!"I answered.
"She's not! Cool. Now you have a best friend to hang out with while we're busy with our album,"Zac said.
"Or I could just hang out with Crazy 8. Lucy told me she would be pretty busy this summer anyways,"I said.
The guys and I kept on chatting for a while longer. Then Hanson went back home at 5:30. I went in the house and got on the computer for a while.
The rest of the summer, Crazy 8 kept working on the songs. We wrote more songs, and Nate and I started making the music for them. But we did need Ike so we could really hear what the music was going to sound like. Hanson got back the last week of August, and they said they were going to finish the album in the recording studio here in town. Ike helped Nate and me finish up the music parts, and Zac and Tay did too. Before school started, Crazy 8 had a total of 17 songs.
