Chapter 25: Disatsers

On Thursday the 20th, the waterline to the refridgerator broke. Water was shooting all night. Mom was the first one to discover the flood downstairs when she went down to take her shower. She woke Riece up first. Then she woke me up at 6:00 in the morning! We picked everything off the floor downstairs, and threw away a lot of stuff. Mom and Riece's clothes got wet since they were on the floor downstairs. Dad came by for a while to help clean up for a while. He then had to go to work.

Mom had taken the day off to clean all day long. She did loads of laundry. She had to go all over the house to find fans. The fans were plugged in and turned on. Mom all day sucked up water with the wet/dry vac. By the end of the day, she was so tired. Walker did come over to help in the afternoon. Riece was not very happy about the floors being wet. That meant she had to sleep upstairs on the couch for a while. She went CRAZY!

The next Thursday, the 27th, a couple of guys came over. They cut up the carpet and took them all out. Mom was surprised to see that the floor was still very wet under the carpet. She had thought they had gotten dried! Mom and dad had just set up the new Hewlett Packard computer up the day before. When the guys got all the carpet out and left fans, I was at the studio with Crazy 8.

Then, the next day, Mouse got sick. She was sticking her tongue out, and was drooling. Riece paniacked and was really worried. She also cried. Mom called the Mobile Pet care Clinic, and the vet came over at 9:00 PM. He took Mouse into his trailor, and put her on the table. His wife held onto the cat, even though Mouse didn't fuss or anything. She just stayed on the table, looking around in the trailor. The vet gave her a couple of shots and some fluids. He came back on Easter morning and gave her another shot.

Mouse did get sick again the next week. She was drooling all over again, and this time she had blood on her lips. The vet came back at 10:00 PM, and gave her a shot and checked on her. Then we were back inside the house, and th vet talked to mom. They talked for about half and hour or so. The vet left after that, and mom told Riece and me that Mouse might have leukemia or cat aids. That really shook Riece up. She just stalked out of the house, slamming the door, and sat on the porch steps. Mom went out to talk to her for a while. They came back in after a while. I then went to bed.

Over all those days, I have told Zac, Tay, and Ike every detail. When I told them about Mouse might having leukemia or aids, they were sorry about her. Mouse seemed to be doing better after that. She started to look better, and had never drooled again in over a week, which was good! Riece, mom, and I were happy to see Mouse was better.
