"Ok. What did you guys think of 'Lets Get Crazy'?"Nathan asked the class.
There were various replies from the class.
"That was the very first song that we wrote together, and we decided that should be the first single,"Jen said.
"Yeah. Anyways, we had decided we should do our project on making an album and making a music video, and all that,"John said.
"Yeah. We told Mrs. Grooms and Mr. Gaither about our project, and they had decided to let us start early cause we had gotten a record deal over Christmas Break. We've e-mailed them both, and Mrs. Grooms said we could go ahead and get started on our project, which we did,"Amanda said.
"We knew making the album would be hard work. You have to do a lot of things for it. We've made a few videos for our project, and the first one that we are going to show you is steps of making the album,"I said.
We started the video and here is how it went:
Meghan: Hey guys. Here we are in the studio, and we have just gotten a record deal.
Liz: We're going to a meeting. In that meeting, we're going to discuss who is going to produce our album, who is going to edit it, etc...
Nate: Yeah. From what Hanson has told us, most of the time these meetings are boring, so we're going to take their word for it!
We're sitting around a table, discussing our ideas and who will work with us on our album.
John: Well. That sure was a pretty boring meeting alright!
Amanda: shut up John!
Tim: We're going to start recording tomorrow.
The next day
Meghan: We are going to start recording the music. So Nate, Ike, and I will be in the recording room, playing our insturments and all that. There will be some other muscians in the room with us.
Nate: Yeah. This process will take a few days or maybe even longer to do.
Nathan, Ike, and I are in the room. We start playing our insturments and the music gets recorded. This goes on for about 3 weeks.
John: We are in our 4th week of recording. We are going to start recording our voices. Meghan can't use the headphones since we do need 2 ears that work, and she only has 1 ear working. But the people that we are working with us have come up with a solution!
All 8 of us are in the recording rom, and we start singing to "Let's Get Crazy." Over the next 3 months we have been recording our singing.
Liz: I am soooooo tired! When will this album be done?
Meghan: Liz. it's gonna be a while before the album is done. Making an album takes a long time!
We are making designs on the computer for the CD, and for the jacket of the album. We also start picking out songs to put on the album. We did record 30 songs, and we put 15 on the CD, 14 on the tape. The design for the CD was soon done, and we started looking though pictures to use for the cover. I typed up the lyrics for the jacket too. We had the cover done. The album was still being mastered though. That took about a week to do.
Nathan: Today is the 28th of April, and we're going to make a video for "Let's Get Crazy."
Meghan: Yup! The director is Mark Hender, and he's directed several videos before.
Jenny: Yeah. For this video, we are basically going to be crazy. Rollderblading races, stupid dances, the dancing to the song, all that stuff.
John: Our own stuff too!
We are being videotaped for the video, and we explain how the video is made. Mark talks about putting together the video.
"Ok. That's the end of our video for the project,"Amanda said.
"Now, we are going to show you the video for 'Let's Get Crazy' before it's even on TV,"Bill said.
"And here it is,"Tim said.
The music video is shown. Then it is over.
"Alright. That was our music video. And we still have some more for our presentation,"Liz said.
"That's right. We've talked to the people who worked with us on our album, and they have agreed to let us give you guys free copies of the CD. The album is to be in stores next Tuesday the 22nd,"I said.
We gave everybody a copy of our CDs, and then we were done with our presentation. We were asked a lot of questions, and we answered them. Then we were done for sure. We did the exact same thing on presentation night the next night, except we didn't give the parents the album.
