"Haha. Neither have I, but I've been to the zoo a few times. I know I've been here when I was about 4, and to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo a lot,"I told Zac.
Zac just smiled.
"Exactly how many times have you been to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Meg?"Zac asked me.
"Uummmmm. Like I said, a lot. I'm not sure. Hmmm........... I think about 5 times,"I answered with a shrug.
"What's your favorite thing to see at the zoo?"Nate asked everyone.
"Monkeys!"Zac and I both exclaimed at the same time.
"I like seeing the polar bears,"Jen said.
"Yeah, so do I."Bill said.
"I'm not so sure," Amanda said.
Tim, Nate, and John liked the reptiles, and Liz liked the giraffes. Walker said he didn't have a favorite; he just loikes to see all the animals. That was the same for Nate's dad, Jake. We got to the entrance where everyone else were. Mrs. Grooms was talking to someone at the gates. She then came back and told us who our chaperones were. The 9 of us were split up into seperate groups. Zac, Nate, Jen, Nancy, Jody, Megan, Kelly, Grace W, Jeff, Dan, John, and I were with Walker, Mrs. Grooms, and Jo, the interpreter.
We saw lions, giraffes, many different kinds of fish and birds, reptiles, polar bears, otters, seals, and many other animals. We walked around all over the zoo. Nan and Jody were being weird together. At one time, we did stop to take a break from walking, and had sodas and/or ice cream. I had the chocolate vanilla twist and Zac had chocolate ice cream. He also had a Dr. Pepper. We then walked around some more. We saw monkeys, and I was happy to see them. Another group was at the primates area when we got there.
"I wonder if that gorilla knows sign langauge,"Jo said to Megan, me, and some of the others.
"Hmm. Let's try signing to him,"Megan said.
Jo and Megan signed to the gorilla. They asked him if he wanted some food, if he wanted a banana, where's the baby, and other things like that. Sometimes the gorilla shrugged or nodded. Most of the time he just ignored them. It was a funny site! We then left the exhibit. We looked at some of the other animals, and then went into the main gift shop. Zac and I looked around together, and didn't find anything that we wanted to buy. We left the shop and sat at a table together. Some of the others were there. Soon Mrs. Grooms had everybody stand in front of a gorilla statue for group pictures. Zac and I gave our cameras to her and she took pictures. Some of the other chaperones took pictures too.
After the pictures, we got with our drivers and left the zoo. The 9 of us got in the van and sat in the same seats. Walker drove to the Double Tree hotel. We then got out and went over to where Mrs. Grooms was. She gave out the room assignments. Jen, Amanda, Liz, and I were togther in room 870. Zac, John, Nate, and Bill were in 1 room. Tim was in a room with some of the other guys. We changed our clothes into casual-nice clothing, and everyone went to the Boulder Dinner Theater for dinner. We had dinner and watched a play called "42nd Street" which was a pretty good play. We went back to the hotel to go swimming.
