The next day, June 6th, I woke up early. I showered, and got dressed. I was sitting on my bed dreaming when I heard the doorbell ring at about 7:30. I grabbed my jacket and left the house with Mrs. Newman. Zac was with us in her van. We went to nic D's house, and picked him up. Then we went to Scott's house, and Nic got him. We then went to the Hodder house for breakfast. There were juice, muffins, fruit, and egg casserole. I had some fruit and a blueberry muffin. Zac has fruit and chocolate muffin. We didn't want to try the casserole. Some of the other 8th graders ate it.
After a while, we then left the house, and walked to the North Platte River. Mrs. Centenino was there with the rafts and life jackets. Everyone put on a life jackey, and went into one of the four rafts. Nate, Tim, Bill, John, Zac, Jen, Liz, Amanda, and I were in one raft together with Mr. Hodder and Mrs. Brown. We got the raft into the river, and got in. Mr. Hodder did the paddling.
At some point, the water was shallow so a lot of the 8th graders got into the water and pushed the raft. I gave Mrs. Brown my hearing aid. then Zac and I got into the freezing cold water. The others in Crazy 8 did the same.
"Oh my god! This is freakin cold!"I exclaimed.
"Yeah!"Zac said, even though I couldn't hear him.
We swam when the water wasn't too shallow. We walked on the rocks when it was really shallow. When we walked, I fell a few times, but I dind't care. I was having fun! Zac and I walked hand in hand together, and he pulled me up whenever I fell. Sometimes when he gives me a hand, I would pull him down so she ends up on the rocks too.
A few times we got back into the raft for a while. We floated on the water for a mile or two. Then we all reached to where we stopped, at some park. We pulled in the rafts, and took off our life jackets. Those who had a change of clothes changed. Zac and I did the same thing. Then we got with out scavenger hunt groups. Zac and I were in a group together. In our group we had Nick, Erin, Kassie, and Clif and our driver was Mr. Brown.
We solved our first clue and went to the Browns' house. We had to spin our hula hoops for 30 minutes while Mrs. Brown taped us. We then were each given a disposable camera, and we went to our next destination, which was Ft. Casper. Some of the other 8th graders were there, but we found the next clue before they did in one of the tepees there. We had gone to the game and fish place, Blockbuster, and some other places. The last place to go to was the Harmelink house. We got there. We had to read a book out loud and do the actions. The book was "A Bear Hunt" or something like that.
Then we got to Las Margitas for lunch. The rest of the groups got there. Zac, Nate, Jen, and I sat at a table together, with Zac and me next to eachother of course. We ordered our food and drinks, and ate them. I guess I had eaten too much chips and dip cause I didn't eat much of my lunch.
After lunch, we went back to the Browns' house. The 7th graders were already there. Zac and I sat together and talked while the others did whatever they wanted to do. I also talked to Nancy and Jody for a while. Everyone were given a popsicle, and we soon left. We got to the school, and Walker took Zac, Jess, Avie, Mack, and me home.
At the Hanson house, Zac and I told Tay and Ike about our day. Zac and I took turns talking about some of the events, and all the fun we had. Soon the rest of Crazy 8 showed up at the Hanson house and we practiced in Hanson's studio. We were doing a song for our graduation which was tonight.
