LONDON (Reuters) - The Queen Mother is well and enjoying her stay at her summer retreat at Balmoral in Scotland, her office says.
The 101-year-old mother of Queen Elizabeth, who was admitted to hospital briefly over the weekend for tests, has guests staying with her and is continuing her holiday as normal.
"She is fine. She is staying on the Balmoral estate and life is normal," said a spokeswoman for the Queen Mother's Clarence House London residence.
Buckingham Palace, the queen's official residence, has been inundated with calls from members of the public concerned about the Queen Mother's health.
A spokesman for the palace confirmed the Queen Mother was fine, but said a stream of calls had been coming in after media reports that Prince Charles, the heir to the throne, had cancelled a planned summer holiday because he did not want to be away from his grandmother.
Royal officials have refused to comment on Charles's holiday plans, saying such matters are "private".
The Queen Mother had medical tests at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on Saturday but was discharged from hospital on the same day and was well enough to attend church on Sunday.
In August, she was given a blood transfusion at a London hospital after being diagnosed as having anaemia and mild heat exhaustion.

A staff member told Reuters overnight that the Queen Mother but fine but the palace had received a stream of calls after reports that Prince Charles had called off a summer holiday with Camilla Parker Bowles because he wanted to be near his 101-year-old grandmother.
On Wednesday, a spokeswoman for the Queen Mother said her health is improving after a weekend hospital check and dismissed suggestions that there is any immediate cause for concern.
"She was a bit poorly, she had tests, she saw a doctor, they were pleased with everything and I was told yesterday she was getting better and better every day," a spokeswoman for the Queen Mother told Reuters.
"At 101 things change very quickly. But I haven't heard anybody say there was any cause for concern," she said.
The Daily Mail on Wednesday reported Prince Charles had cancelled a week-long holiday due to start on Thursday with his long-time lover Camilla Parker Bowles because was worried about being away while the Queen Mother was poorly.
"He simply does not want to be out of the country while his grandmother is unwell," the newspaper quoted what it described as close friend of the prince as saying. "He is devoted to her and wants to be on hand."
Officials said they never discussed what Charles did in his private time. "We see holidays as a private matter," said a spokeswoman for the Prince.
Charles, who met 50 women wearing decorated bras for a breast cancer charity event at his Highgrove home on Tuesday, is not due to attend another public engagement in Britain until next Wednesday.
The Queen Mother, who is on holiday in Scotland, underwent medical tests in at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on Saturday.
In August, the Queen Mother was given a blood transfusion at a London hospital after being diagnosed with anaemia, a lack of red blood cells, and suffering mild heat exhaustion.
The Daily Mail said Charles and Camilla had been due to fly to the Red Sea resort of Aqaba to stay as guests of the King and Queen of Jordan.
The prince has trodden a delicate public relations path over his relationship with Camilla since his marriage to the late Princess Diana ended in 1996 with admissions of adultery on both sides. Diana was killed in a Paris car crash in 1997.
