Building A Castle

Building A Castle

Building a Castle can be simple, yet complex. It is one of the easiest towns to understand and good for beginners. The buildings cost reasonable amounts of resources, with just a bit more wood and ore than usual (the resource silo changes this). Watch out for the stables/jousting arena. Make sure you have plenty of wood. And the portal of glory costs much of each resource.
I have a personal building technique when it comes to building all towns. Here is an order. If the first has already been built, move to the next one (most towns start with at least a tavern and level one creature dwelling). This example is for a Castle.
(1)Tavern (usually built) (2)Town Hall (3)Mage Guild Level 1 (4)Blacksmith (5)Marketplace (6)City Hall (7)Guardhouse (usually built) (8)Archers Tower (sometimes built) (9)Citadel
Assuming that a Tavern and Guardhouse are already built, this will be earning you 2000 gold (I stress that gold is important, and the faster you upgrade your Town Hall/City Hall the better) and level 1 & 2 creatures at citadel growth rate. The rest is all based on preference. If the map is small, building a griffin tower and barracks would be good and upgrading the archers to marksmen will give you added firepower. If it is large, explore more and gather up resources, build a Castle, and then a Capitol to maximize your gold earnings. Remember that it is always a good idea to build new creature dwellings on day 7, and creature hordes (in this case, the griffin bastion). Even if you don’t have the money to recruit them on day 1, you can always do it later. I suggest a might hero for the castle, if you pick a Knight, chances are you’ll only need a level 2 mage guild for the time being.
The rest is up for you to decide, depending on what you want to do, the Castle can be the most powerful town in the game.
