......... . Town Hall...,.................Above is a shot of the members of the public, I most often see at Town Hall attending the public meetings... A couple of years ago there were less people attending.........I wasn't there... Anyway I don't attend all meetings I would rather stay home and watch the meetings on TV..... SO I Can Throw Popcorn at the Screen....... I really like the Mayor and the Members Of the Town Council, they are each very interesting..... Individuals...... I don't think they give themselves Enough Credit........ But Of course Not Everything....is wine and roses..... and I believe ....... . . . . . .pause .......................... Let's get back to the point ........ If The Town Owned Land in the Forest Street Area Is Not given Protections and Is under Threat Which I believe It Is...... My Friends In The Photo Above Are Going To have To Double-Up.......Mayor.... Councilors.... You All Remember That First PUBLIC hearing Regarding The Rezoning to R2 on William Street......... We in the public could not help but notice the surprise on your faces as it became standing room only........ask those people who attended... how they came to be at Town Hall That Night..... And Don't Forget it was POURING RAIN.. That Night .. many of the elderly whose doors I had Knocked on, did not attend because of the Weather............ Well If the Town Council Does Not PUT IN PLACE the POLICY STATEMENTS Regarding the Forest Street Service Infrastructure... POLICY STATEMENTS already deliberated upon and passed in the Forest Street Heritage Conservation District's Steering Committee Meeting of June.20.2007............. Then You May Have To Hire The MARINERS CENTER ...BECAUSE this street...... Forest Street......Is Very Important In The Minds Of The Citizens of This Town........... Forest Street belongs to each any every citizen of this Town regardless of there wealth or social standing whether they own property or rent or live in a cardboard box.....Forest Street....Is Our Street.... And We Love It...............WHY... Don't You Want To Protect IT?... ..

. .This shot above looks like a country setting ...but it is what I call the Deep South... This is were Yarmouth Began ....I talked to some of the women at the Bingo Hall .... Well after I Left..... It would be A Very Brave Town Councilor Who Would Walk In and Try To Explain Why They... Did NOT AGREE WITH PROTECTING THE TOWN OWNED STREETSCAPE of Forest Street..........Most reactions were of surprise and a few mutterings of anger...Forest Street is Part of The Town's..Cultural Heritage And It means much more than houses It is a collective memory....The Tunnel Formed by The TREES , The Fall Scenes.......That Special Snowfall That Clings To every Branch...Description.... After Description...memories.....The Rock Is Mentioned by every second or third Person...... These are memories that the people love to relive....The Houses are only a backdrop to the streetscape that is ...... OWNED BY ALL OF US.... ......... .....

The Councilor sitting as adviser in a non-participatory capacity makes an Announcement at the beginning of the Forest Street Heritage Conservation District's Steering Committee Meeting of July.18.2007 to make it brief, The Councilor stated....that she and other Councilors felt that the ''Street THINGY''was too restrictive for the property owners........ we would not likely be able to form a heritage district if these protections remained..........Question.. Do You Mean BY....''Street THINGY''...the preservation of the Victorian streetscape, original service infrastructure and the protection of the 19th century ornamental tree plantings [all on Town land] IS THIS the problem....The Answer YES ...........

. . . This may be... The Only Intact Victorian Streetscape...... and Service Infrastructure ....Surviving ...in an Urban setting ..
