Medical Care

The U.S. Naval Hospital is located at NSA, Agnano. There is a branch Medical Clinic located at Capodichino.

The military medical insurance offered to you while stationed in Naples is TRICARE Europe. TRICARE offers two options, either TRICARE Standard or TRICARE Prime. Prime is an enrollment plan for your health care. By enrolling in Prime you will be assigned a Primary Care Manager (PCM), who is responsible for your entire health care needs, you may choose a PCM if you have a preference. There are no costs involved to enroll in Prime. If you need to see a provider in the local community you will not incur the cost share or deductible, that would be incurred if you enroll in Standard. If you enroll in TRICARE Standard you will incur both cost shares and deductibles.

Your PCM will be a military provider located at the Naval Hospital in Agnano. If you require specialty care that cannot be provided at the Naval Hospital, you may be referred to one of the Preferred Providers in the local community. All Preferred Providers mush meet the hospital's credentialling standards, have signed Memorandums of Understanding with the hospital, and speak English.
