Hi, it's Kerry Gibbons again, the president and founder of the AHSAA. I would like to say that I intend this club to be strictly student-run. I do not expect anyone to actually ask permission or get supervision from their high school. AND, LIKEWISE, NO MEETINGS SHOULD TAKE PLACE ON SCHOOL PROPERTY WITHOUT PROPER PERMISSION AND SUPERVISION! Don't take this club as an excuse to do anything bad or illegal, because I know for a fact that WE will be blamed, and have to shut down. Maybe, in a few years, this organization will be so large that we will actually get national recognition, and be so popular that schools actually fund us, but let's be realistic here. Most all anime is of a nature that it would not be allowed to be played on school property without "being edited for daytime television", as I put it. And none of us want that! So...please, if you would like to participate in this association, show some discretion.
On the other hand, I do highly encourage all branches to post signs and posters around their high school, even without permission, to advertise, and invite new members. This is fun stuff...everyone should know about it and be allowed to participate. If, though, your school finds out about your postings and asks you to stop, then do. Do not continue to post without permission, when you have been asked not to. However, after an event like that has happened, if you get permission from any sort of school official, then resume the postings. (If you can get into the morning announcements, go for it!)
Most importantly, have fun. That's what it's all about, right baby?
Love,
Kerry (President and Founder of the AHSAA)
