ALWAYS AND FOREVER
Chapter Fifteen

Later
May 25, 1912

Jack got ready as Rose waited for him in the sitting room.

They went to the party and had a blast.

"Rose, thanks for the party. I am having so much fun!" said Jack.

"You're welcome, honey. I'm glad you're having fun," Rose said.

"Well, this is the best birthday party I've ever had," he said, right before he kissed her.

Suddenly, Irish music came on, and Jack looked at Rose.

She just gave him a dazzling smile. "I love you, Jack," she said.

"I love you, too, Rose."

"Let's make tonight more memorable. May I have this dance, birthday boy?" Rose asked.

"But of course," he said, as he took her hand and went to the dance floor.

Jack and Rose glided across the floor, just like they had on Titanic and at the engagement party.

At the end of their dance, Rose said, "Happy birthday, darling."

"It couldn't be any better. I love you, Rose," he said.

Rose then kissed him passionately.

The party ended at midnight.

"Good night. Thanks for coming," Rose and Jack said as the last guests left.

Rose told Jack that, since it was his birthday, he wouldn't have to clean, but he insisted.

All of Rose's friends were jealous, because Jack actually liked helping Rose around the house, and he loved to take care of Cora.

Cleaning didn't take that long, and afterwards, they went home.

On their way to their house, Jack said, "Rose, I had a wonderful time tonight. Thank you."

"Jack, there is no need in thanking me. I'm glad you had fun," she said.

Jack had his arm around her waist, and she had her head on his shoulder.

Molly and Ruth were at the nearest hotel, Residence Inn. Jack and Rose told them to stay at their house, but Molly and Ruth thought that they would be in the way. So they insisted that it was okay.

As Jack and Rose entered the house, they were kissing passionately.

"So, Rose, where's that surprise?" Jack asked, with a grin on his lips.

"I think you know," she said, as she started to kiss him with more passion.

He broke the kiss, and said, "I really think that I will like this surprise!"

Rose shut him up by kissing him again.

She didn't have to say what the surprise was. He already knew.

So they spent their night in the stars.

The Next Morning

Jack went to his parents' house that morning.

He never left her in the morning unless she was awake.

Rose felt a shiver go down her spine. It was then she noticed that Jack was gone.

Oh God, this couldn't have been a dream, could it? He had to have lived! Rose thought.

Then she noticed that she was in Jack's house. She let out a sigh of relief.

Suddenly, she smelled eggs and bacon, so she got up to find Jack walking in the door, going to finish breakfast.

"Mmm...that smells good, Jack," she said. Jack looked up and smiled.

The smile he gave her was one that she had told him made her feel faint.

"Good morning, sunshine," he said, once she walked in the kitchen.

She walked over to him and hugged him.

Jack returned the hug with a passionate kiss.

"Well, dear, how does it feel to be twenty?" she asked.

"Great. Because you're here to share it with me," he said.

"All right. You can cut the Prince Charming act," she said, jokingly.

"Rose...you are my princess. You deserve a King Charming act," he said.

Rose giggled. "Better yet, you are my queen!" he proclaimed.

"Well, I love you no matter what you are. Prince, king, or anything. I love you more than anything, Jack," she said.

Just then, Molly and Ruth knocked on the door.

"Molly! Mother! How was your rest last night?" Rose asked.

"Great darling, and yours?" Ruth asked. Rose blushed, but Ruth didn't seem to notice.

"It was great also, Mother," she said.

"Well, Jack, how did you like your birthday party?" asked Molly.

"It was the best party I've ever had. But I think that's because Rose spent it with me," he answered.

"Oh, that's good. By the way, where's Cora?"

"She is still sleeping. Should I wake her?" Rose asked.

"No, dear. She'll probably wake up soon," Ruth said.

"Well, ladies, I am going to my parents' house. Anyway, I'm sure you want to catch up on things," Jack said.

"All right, Jack. I love you," Rose said.

"I love you, too," he said, walking out the door.

Rose turned to Molly and her mother and said, "Well, I do believe we have a few things to talk about. Am I not mistaken?"

"Yes, dear, we do need to talk," said Ruth.

"All right. Out with it," said Rose.

"Well, Rose, Molly and I are leaving after your honeymoon."

"What? Where?"

"Well, we are going to spend three months in Europe," Molly said.

"Oh, Mother, don't go overseas again," Rose begged.

"Darling, I have to face my fears, and that is one of them."

"All right, but be safe."

"Well, Rose, is there something that you need to share with us?"

"Yes, Mother, there is."

"Well?"

"Mother, I'm not pregnant. But Jack and I think it's for the best. We want to get settled first."

"Oh, dear. Yes, that's true. You do need to get settled first. And you have Cora to take care of," said Ruth.

"Yes. Jack and I are going to travel the world also."

"But darling, won't you need someone to take care of Cora?" Molly asked.

"No, we want her to see the world with us."

"Oh, yes, good idea. She is old enough," said Molly.

"Oh, guess what," Rose said, suddenly.

"What is it, dear?" Ruth asked.

"Jack and I are getting married on July fifth, at the Little Rock Church."

"That's great, darling!" Molly said.

"Yes. That's wonderful, dear," said Ruth.

Just then, Cora walked in.

"Mommy!"

"Good morning, sleepyhead!" Rose said.

Cora giggled. Then she noticed Ruth and Molly.

"Ruthie! Molly!" Cora exclaimed.
