"I'm sorry, Rose. But you're pregnant. We'll come here for our first anniversary, and if you aren't pregnant then, you can ride the roller coaster. I'm sorry."
All day, Rose had been upset because she couldn't ride the roller coaster because of her pregnancy.
"I'm sorry for being rude, Jack. It's just that ever since we talked about it on the Titanic, I've looked forward to it."
"I know, Rose, darling, so have I. But we can still ride horses in the surf," he said with a smile.
"Really, Jack?" she asked.
"Anything for you, my love, except for cheap beer and the roller coaster," he said.
Rose smiled. "Can we get the horse when the sun is beginning to set?"
"We sure can," he said, right before he kissed her.
So as the sun began to set, they went to get a horse.
Rose and Jack walked into the stables.
Rose immediately fell in love with a chocolate brown horse.
"Oh, Jack! She's beautiful!" Rose exclaimed, as she petted the horse.
"Yes, she is. Oh, hello sir," Jack said, as a stable boy entered the stables.
"Hi. It'll be fifty cents for each hour," he said, eyeing Rose.
"All right. We'll take her for two hours," Jack said, pointing to the horse Rose was with.
"Oh, that one there is Fantasy. A beauty, ain't she?"
"Oh my, yes!" Rose said.
They paid for the horse, and walked out of the stables.
"Rose, was he staring at you?" Jack asked, a bit jealous.
"Well, well, well, Mr. Dawson! Is that jealousy in your voice?"
"Well, Rose, you're my wife, and you're pregnant. All right. I guess I am a little jealous." He gave in.
Rose laughed. "You're hopeless, Jack."
He kissed her.
He instructed her how to get on the horse.
He got on behind her. She leaned her head against his chest, and looked into his eyes.
"What?" he asked with a smile.
"I just love you, Mr. Dawson."
"And I love you, Mrs. Dawson. Oh God, that sounds so good."
"What does?" Rose asked, dumbfounded.
"Mrs. Rose Dawson," he replied.
"Yes, it does."
So they galloped right in the surf like they had talked and dreamed about.
They went to the Santa Monica pier after they rode Fantasy for a couple of hours.
"Jack, can we ride the Ferris wheel?" she asked.
"Sure," he said, and kissed her cheek.
"I'll race ya!" Rose said.
"I'll beat ya!" Jack laughed, but Rose was already running.
Rose looked back and saw Jack not five feet away from her.
"Oh, no!" she said, before tumbling to the sand with Jack above her.
They were laughing hysterically.
Jack got a serious look, while Rose was still giggling like a schoolgirl.
He gingerly placed his finger on her lips to quiet her.
When she fell silent, Jack removed his finger and kissed her with more passion than he had ever kissed her with, if that was possible.
Jack helped Rose up, and he put his arm around her waist.
They silently walked the rest of the way to the pier.
They got two tickets for the Ferris wheel.
Once at the top, Jack said, "There's the horizon, Rose. Our horizon."
Rose smiled. "I love you, Jack. More than you'll ever know," she said.
"And I love you, Rose, more that you'll ever know," he said.
So that night, they went back to the beach house and made love.
