Four Months Later
April 12, 1913
Rose celebrated her eighteenth birthday on March twenty-fifth.
*****
Rose was now nine months pregnant.
Today was Jack and Rose's anniversary of the day that they had met.
Jack was constantly worried about Rose's well-being.
That night Jack made Rose a special dinner.
"Rose, can you believe it's been a year since we first met?"
"No, I can't. It's amazing. It feels like it was just yesterday when you taught me how to spit like a man."
Jack laughed.
"I love you, Rose."
"I love you, too."
They finished dinner and headed to bed.
Once he had laid down, Jack put his arms around her and kissed her.
They eventually fell asleep.
*****
April 15, 1913
Rose hadn't been feeling well all day.
She figured it was just the horrible memories from what happened a year ago.
Cora was at school and Jack had the day off from work, so he comforted Rose all day.
She finally told him to go draw or paint.
They had a small argument, but he finally gave in.
About An Hour Later
Rose felt a sharp pain in her stomach, and she knew it was time.
"Jack!"
Jack rushed into the room.
"What is it, Rose? Are you all right?"
"Jack...the babies...they're coming!"
"Oh, my God! I will take Cora to Mom and Dad's house. And I will ask Dad if he will go get the doctor!"
"OK, Jack. Just hurry!"
The doctor got there twenty minutes later, and Jack helped Rose to the bedroom.
"I am so sorry for putting you through this, Rose."
"Jack, don't be sorry...I would do this every day just to prove my love for you."
The doctor handed her some pain relievers, and Jack looked at her with grin on his face.
"I would do it over and over, but I am not so stupid that I wouldn't take the drugs!" Throughout all of her pain, her sense of humor stayed with her.
He laughed.
Three hours later, she was still in pain, but one baby came out.
"It's a girl!" the doctor shouted.
One Hour Later
"Another girl!" the doctor said, handing her to Rose.
"Well, Rose, what are their names?"
"Hmm...you pick hers, since she looks exactly like you and I will pick this one's, which looks like me."
"Well, I like the first names we picked, since my mother's name is Elizabeth. Her name will be Elizabeth Rose Dawson."
"And her name will be Josephine Adele Dawson."
Elizabeth looked exactly like Jack, except for the color of her eyes, which were hazel like his mom's.
Josephine looked like Rose, but her eyes were also different. She had Jack's eyes.
The babies were now asleep in their cribs, and Jack and Rose were talking.
"Ironic, isn't it?" Jack asked.
"What?" she asked.
"Lizzie and Josie were born the day the Titanic sank."
"Yes. That is ironic. Funny how life is."
