ALWAYS AND FOREVER
Chapter Forty-Eight

Journal Entries

Fabri, Tommy, and I are trapped behind enemy lines. I can't believe it. I hope Rose is okay. I'm sure she has been notified. Oh, Rose, don't let go. I'm so sorry. I miss my children and her so much. I have to make it. I told her I would. Yesterday was our sixth anniversary. I cried all day. I'm not ashamed to admit that. I hope she's okay. I hope my kids are okay, too. I'm glad she's acting. That'll keep her busy. I got shot in my left arm. Thank God it wasn't my right arm. I wouldn't be able to write or draw. I haven't eaten in days. All they give us is water. I'm surprised they give us that! Fabrizio fell asleep and when they caught him he was beat up. It's bad here. Well, I have to go now. They're finally giving us some bread!

It's been a while, I know. All I can think about is Rose, of course. Well, the soldiers that kept us captive fled. Now we're stuck here with no way out. After my last journal entry, Fabrizio and Tommy got the bullet out of my arm, thank God. Right now they're trying to find a way out, since we were put underground in a cave type thing. Oh, my God! They found a way out!

We're out of there! We have been for about a month, but what the hell. The only problem is that we're lost. We stole an army automobile, and it broke down about ten miles away from where we stole it. Now we're taking a break from walking. It's raining here. I love it. I was discouraged about the fact of not spending Christmas with my family. I wish I was there. I wonder if Pat made it home okay. I hope so. I can't wait to see all of my family and friends waiting for me. I know this is short, but we want to make it to Paris as soon as possible.

Yet again another Valentine's day without Rose. But I have good news. We're in Paris! Finally, I can get back to my beautiful wife and my four beautiful children! This is great! Well, I'm now at a hospital. And in about a week we're going to Southampton to get on a ship to go back home. Thank God! I am surprised that we even made it to Paris. This is great! I'm so happy! Have to go, though.
