Based on some situations originated by James Cameron.
I was just a girl when I boarded
the Titanic
I blushed for the first time,
Held a man's hand that wasn't Papa's,
Danced in a way that could only be described as floating,
Like an angel without wings.
Even when chaos spilled around us,
He was there, pleading with me to go with him,
No matter how much my heart ached to go,
Papa's word meant much more,
I'd lost them in the sea of screaming,
Then hung from the bow, alone.
I wondered where he was and if he was still alive,
I let go, unable to hold the railing with shivering hands,
And as I fell I thought,
This was like dancing,
Floating in mid-air,
Arms stretched out.
I died a woman on the Titanic.
And it was all because of him.
