CAL'S LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE
Chapter Six
Cal's mother snapped her fingers. "Okay.
Final stop."
Rose walked into the hotel. Cal was waiting
for her. "Rose, I thought I told you not to leave!" he shouted,
grabbing Rose's arm.
"Cal, I only went to the drugstore to
get some magazines."
Cal walked up to Rose and slapped her hard
across the face. "You are going to learn to obey. Is that clear?"
"Yes," Rose whispered.
"Good. Now, get dressed. We are due to
have dinner with the Smiths in an hour."
"Cal, I am not going."
Cal grabbed her arm and twisted it behind her
back. "Oh, yes, Rose. You are going. You are going to learn to listen. Is
that clear?"
"Yes."
Cal let go of Rose’s arm. "Good. Now, go
and get dressed. I want you to wear that red dress that I bought for you."
Rose slowly walked into the bedroom.

Cal's mother turned to him, and asked,
"Are you ready to face up to your mistakes?"
"Yes."
"Good. Cal, you are being given a second
chance. Don’t blow it."
"I won't," Cal whispered.
"I hope not, Cal," his mother
replied, as she snapped her fingers a final time.
