CAL’S LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE
Chapter Eight
Cal's stepmother was having lunch
in the café when Nathan walked into Cal's room.
Cal, who had been asleep, opened
his eyes. "Get out!" he shouted at his father.
"Cal, calm down."
"You killed my mother,"
Cal said.
"No, Cal. A servant killed
her."
"Liar!"
Lucy walked into the room.
"What's going on?"
Nathan turned to his wife.
"My son thinks I killed his mother."
"He will come around."
"I hope so. I never hurt his
mother," Nathan lied.
Cal hoped that it was not too
late to bring his father to justice.

A doctor walked into Rose's room.
"You are free to go now. Is there anyone that can pick you up?"
"Yes. My mother."
"I will call her."
"How is Cal?"
"I am on my way to check on
him."
"What about the pregnancy
test?"
"That turned out
negative."
Rose was glad. She wanted a child
someday, but not for a few more years, at least.

The doctor walked into Cal's
room, and was surprised to see him awake.
"Get him out of her!"
Cal shouted, pointing to his father.
The doctor turned to Nathan.
"Don't worry. He has a major head injury. That’s what’s making him say
things he doesn't mean."
"No, I meant it. I want him
out of this room. I also want him out of my life."
"Cal, you don't mean
that," Nathan said.
"Yes, I do. You killed my
mother," Cal said, starting to really cry for the first time since he was
little.
The doctor turned to Nathan.
"Maybe you’d better leave."
"Yes," Nathan replied.
"I will call you in the
morning. By then, he might come around."
