DO YOU ONLY WANNA DANCE?
Chapter Two

Jack was so terribly upset, he wanted something to do--anything to get his mind off of what Victoria had told him. He walked through the halls, looking at everything they had available. Spa treatments, swimming, tennis, and the high society frills. He didn't want any of that. He wanted to learn something new. When he walked down another corridor, he heard music. Inside, two people were dancing. He peeked inside, getting a closer look. He loved the art form of the two young lovers. He only wished that he had a talent other than being a doctor and having a semi-rich snob profile.

Katey Miller and Javier Suarez had been dancing ever since they had lost the competition last year. Katey was suppose to go home with her family, but after seeing their daughter so distressed and depressed, they had decided to leave her there to study as a foreign exchange student. Jack smiled and coughed, which turned Katey and Javier's heads in his direction.

"Hello. Is there something you need?" Javier asked.

"Oh, no. Excuse me. I was just admiring the two of you dance. How did you learn to do that?" Jack wondered.

"Years of practice," Javier said.

"And hard work," Katey added.

"My name's Jack." He put out his hand.

"Nice to meet you. My name's Javier Suarez, and this is Katey Miller." Javier took his hand and shook it, and so did Katey.

"Are there any dance lessons available?" he asked.

"Um…yeah. We are dance instructors for the hotel," Katey replied.

"Great, because I have two left feet." Jack looked down at his feet.

"So did Katey here. But I taught her to feel the music." Javier glanced at Katey, remembering their first dance practice.

"Hey, I wasn't that bad. Anyway, I taught you structure." Katey punched him in the shoulder.

"When do classes start?" Jack was really interested now.

"Tomorrow. If you want, we can teach you the basics today. Want your first lesson?" Katey asked, wanting to make Javier jealous, just for once.

"Sure." Jack took off his suit jacket and put it on a chair.

He walked to the middle of the room with Katey. She led him to the dance floor, taking his hand and resting it on her shoulder. Javier looked at their position and adjusted Jack's form. He stood behind Jack, and Katey got Jack by the hips.

"Okay, Jack. The first lesson is to move your hips in a circle." She demonstrated.

Jack felt like an idiot when he did it. He knew he wasn't doing it right. Katey closed the space and put her hands on his hips, making him correct the way he was moving. With Javier behind Jack, he started to move the way he was supposed to. After a few minutes, he started to get it right.

"That's very good." Katey was shorter than Jack. She looked up into his blue eyes.

"Perfect," Javier said from behind him.

"Do you know how to sweep the room, Jack?" Katey asked.

"Uh…yeah. I think so." He danced with Katey, and began sweeping the room like she had asked. His steps were a little off, but other than that he was a great dancer. His form wasn't weak, and he knew how to lead a lady.

Javier was a little jealous, seeing Katey dance with a man other than him, but he quickly got over it and thought that he was lucky, because they were engaged.

"Awesome, Katey. I see our many hours of dancing at La Rosa Negra have paid off, that now you can lead a man." Javier sat back, watching as they danced.

"Gracias, Javier." She smiled at him.

"De nada, Bonita." He cut in between Jack and Katey and kissed her hand.

She blushed.

"Well, thank you both. It's been a pleasure. What time do the lessons start?" Jack checked his watch.

"After school hours," Javier told him.

"Great. I'll be here." Jack waved good-bye to Katey and Javier and went out the door, smiling.

This was going to be a new experience for him. He wasn't cut out to be a dancer. He knew it too well, especially in the states. His handsome good looks had got him a lot of women, but none were ever serious about what he cared about. All they wanted was a night of passion. Not that he was complaining. He liked the attention. He just wished he could find someone who was just like he was and cared about the stuff he cared about. Someone like Rosa Delgado.
