Based on some situations originated by James Cameron.
"You’ve never flown before,
have you?"
The flight instructor’s voice
echoed through my head. How I longed to say yes, to tell him about my first
flight. It was on the bow of the Titanic, the unsinkable ship of dreams. I flew
above the water and into the sky, painted with swirls of breathtaking hues. I
longed to tell him about the gentle wind blowing across my face, and the scent
of seawater. But the most beautiful thing of all was behind me.
He had instructed me to close my
eyes and step up onto the railing. I didn’t hesitate. For some reason, I
trusted this man with my life. Probably because he had saved it. He ended up
saving every part of me. My heels on the rail made me a little unstable, so he
moved behind me and held me up. He stepped up on the rail and held my arms out
with his as he instructed me to open my eyes.
It was an unimaginable thrill,
feeling the freedom and ease with which birds fly. All I could utter in my
amazement was to Jack. I told him that I was flying; I wanted him to experience
this feeling with me.
We shared a kiss there that day.
It was our first, full of passion, desire, and love. We couldn’t have each
other, yet that was all we wanted. We wanted each other, to be together. We
wanted our whole lives ahead of us. We wanted it to be the ship of our dreams.
"Rose? Have you ever flown
before?"
"Once." In the arms of
the man who flew me through the clouds.
"Really? What did you like
the most?"
"The view." The sun,
the sky, the water, and his face. Brighter and more beautiful than anything
else on the world’s canvas.
"Did you enjoy your
flight?"
"More than anything."
The End.
