JACK AND ROSE GOING TO EUROPE
Chapter Sixteen
Ruth led the doctor
to Rose, Jack, and the twins.
"You have two
healthy babies," he said to Rose and Jack, after he checked them over.
"What are their names?"
"The boy is
Jacob Andrew Dawson. The girl is Emily Ruth Dawson," Jack replied.
"I will be
back in a few months to see how they are doing. I want you to take it easy for
a few days," he told Rose.
"I will. Can I
get up, though?"
"Yes, if you
don't do much housework."
"Okay,"
Rose agreed.
"Well, I’d
better get going. I have to deliver a baby down the road. She is thirty-six and
this is her first baby, so I am a bit nervous."
Jack walked the
doctor to the front door.
"Thank you for
everything," Jack told the doctor.
"You are
welcome. I am sorry I did not arrive until after the births."
"That is okay.
The babies just could not wait to be born," Jack replied.
"Well, I will
be back in a few months," the doctor said, as he walked out the door.

Jack and Rose
watched their newborns sleep, before heading downstairs.
Ruth was in the
kitchen, making hot chocolate for herself.
"Do you want a
cup of hot chocolate?"
"Yes,
please," Jack and Rose replied.
Ruth got out two
extra cups from the cup holder on the counter.
A few minutes
later, as she was drinking her hot chocolate, Rose though about how lucky she
was to finally have children of her own, after years of trying and one
miscarriage.
