HARRY POTTER AND THE SHIP OF DREAMS
Chapter Five

Harry made his way out of his stateroom and followed the signs that led him to the A-Deck Grand Staircase.

When he made his way down, he was greeted by many first class passengers. He saw a sign pointing to the back of the staircase that read Lift.

He was greeted by the operator inside the lift. "Good afternoon, Mr. Potter. Where can I take you to?"

"I need to get to the purser’s office to rent some deck chairs," Harry said.

"Ah…very good. That’ll be on C-Deck," the operator said, pulling the control crank. In about twenty seconds, the lift stopped. "C-Deck, sir," the operator said.

"Thank you," Harry replied, exiting the lift.

When he exited, he made a left, and there was a sign that read Purser’s Office.

He entered to find a man assisting a woman with storing her jewels in a lockbox.

"Can I help you, Mr. Potter?" the purser asked.

Harry was astonished at how many crewmen knew his name. "Uh…yes. I need to rent some deck chairs."

"All right. That can be arranged. Can I get your stateroom number, sir?" the purser replied.

"B-50," Harry replied.

"Very good, sir. How many will you require?"

"Two," Harry replied.

"Two shillings, please," the purser said nicely, smiling.

Harry handed him the coins.

"Thank you, sir. I will send them to your stateroom immediately."

"Thank you," Harry said, leaving to take the lift back to A-Deck.

When Harry got back to his stateroom, he went out to his private promenade deck to find Fleur. Surprisingly, he saw that she was already sitting in a deck chair, reading.

Harry quietly shut the door, hung his hat up, sneaked up behind her, and grabbed her shoulders.

Fleur shuddered and dropped her book. "Ah! Harry, you…"

"Angel…yes, I know," Harry teased.

Harry pulled a deck chair up and sat next to Fleur. Fleur continued with her book, entitled A Witch’s Guide to Marriage.

Harry snickered, but Fleur didn’t notice, so he got up and got a book that would anger Fleur, entitled Kama Sutra: The Art of Sexual Technique.

Harry sat down and began reading.

Fleur look at what he was reading and smacked the book out of his hand. "Harry! How dare you?"

"What did I do?" Harry laughed.

Fleur took his book and threw it back in his trunk.

"Harry, go away. Go up on deck and mess around there," she scolded.

Harry got the point. "Fine," he said, leaving to go up on deck.

Fleur looked around to make sure he was gone before she went back to his trunk to get the Kama Sutra to read for herself.

Harry left his stateroom and followed the hall to the Grand Staircase’s upper section, where he took a right at a door that read Boat Deck.

He walked through the door to see an amazing view of the sea.

He took a right past an open gate, only to be stopped by an officer.

"I’m sorry, Mr. Potter, but this is the officer’s promenade. No passengers allowed here," the officer said.

"Oh, sorry," Harry said, beginning to walk away.

"Wait! Mr. Potter, I forgot. The owner, Mr. Fudge, is waiting to see you. He sent you a message," the officer said.

"Oh, right," Harry replied, completely forgetting the two messages in his pocket.

"Right this way, sir."

Harry followed the officer to a section labeled by a sign. Bridge and Wheelhouse: Officers and Crew Only!

"Can I get your name?" Harry asked.

"Oh, sorry, sir. Second Officer Charles Lightoller," the officer said, shaking Harry’s hand.

"Oh, Harry!" a voice called from behind him.

"Mr. Fudge. Hello," Harry replied, shaking Fudge’s hand.

"I just wanted to make sure your stay is as relaxing as possible," Fudge replied, smiling.

"Yes. It’s fine, thanks," Harry replied.

"Good. Don’t hesitate to give us a shout if you need anything. Oh, I forgot. Here," Fudge said, handing Harry a small card. "This card is given to all aurors. Just show this card and you can go anywhere on the ship you please."

"Thank you," Harry replied gratefully.

"Oh, if you’ll excuse me, I have other matters to attend to," Fudge replied.

"Good-bye," Harry said.

Harry felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around to see Charles in front of him.

"Good afternoon, sir. I have a message for you," Charles said, handing him a card.

"Thank you," Harry said, handing him a shilling.

Charles bowed and left.

Harry read the card.

Potter, come to my room immediately. E40. Alistair Moody.

"It must be important," Harry said, walking aft towards the second class promenade and making his way down the small flight of constantly turning stairs, all the way down to E-Deck. There he encountered a steward.

"Sir, this is third class. Can I ask what you are doing in the steerage area?"

Harry showed him the card.

The steward’s eyes widened. "I’m sorry, sir. Can I assist you?"

"Yes. Where is E40?" Harry inquired.

"The room to your right, sir," the steward said, going about his business.

Harry turned to find a sign on the door that read E40.

Harry knocked.

"Get in here, Potter!" Moody growled behind the door.

Harry opened the door to find a very small eight foot by five foot room with a sink in the center wall and a bunk bed on each side.

"Hello, Alistair."

"Potter, we’ve got trouble. Now, I know you’re on your honeymoon, but all I ask is for you to stay alert and report to me every day," Moody said, handing him a snub-nosed revolver.

Harry remembered using muggle weapons in his auror training.

Harry stashed the revolver and a few rounds in his inner jacket pocket.

"Just keep an eye on Fudge," Moody growled.

"Oh…all right. Bye," Harry replied.

"If you see anything suspicious, report to me," Moody said, shutting the door.
