MY HEART BELONGS TO YOU
Chapter Fourteen
"Do you smell that?" Donald asked.
"No. What is it?" Teddy asked.
"It's the smell of fresh flowers and
cake," Donald said.
Teddy let out a sigh. "Oh, for heaven's
sake. You know, Donald, there is more out there than flowers and freshly baked
cake," Teddy said, pointing out through the stain glassed church windows
which showed an arbor that was covered with purple and white lilacs.
"Well, of course. People and
grass," Donald said.
"Is that how low you are titling people
with? They are in the category of grass?" Teddy asked.
"Well--" Donald said.
Jack chimed in and said, "Don't answer
that. Come on. It's time to get married."
Teddy grew a smile, and said under his
breath, "Married."
Everyone watched as Teddy, Jack, Kevin, and
Donald came onto the altar. A different type of music started to play, and the
guests started to talk among themselves. Getting up to speak with others,
exchanging seats, or just sitting in their seats eager for the wedding to
start.

"Look at all those people out there. I
can't go on," Hannah said, shaking her head.
"This is not an opening to a Broadway
play. This is your wedding," Rose said, straightening Hannah's veil.
"You're right. I don't know why I'm
worried about this," Hannah said, looking at herself in the mirror.
"Where are your children?"
Figuring that Hannah was trying to change the
subject to get the jitters off of her, Rose replied, saying, "Mrs.
Peppercorn and her daughter took the liberty of holding them for Jack and I.
The horrible confession is that I miss them terribly."
Hannah giggled, and so did Jessica and
Rachel. "I would have to admit, I would miss my child, or in your case
children; especially at this age of them," Jessica said.
"I must agree with Jess. Oh, Rose, would
you help me with this hair piece?" Rachel said. Rose came over and placed
her hair in the right place.
"Hannah. Fifteen minutes left,"
Kevin said.
"Oh, Kevin. You're the perfect one that
I would like to speak to right now," Hannah said, and motioned outside the
church doors. "I have cold feet," Hannah said.
"Well, who wouldn't?" Kevin asked,
and laughed.
Hannah smiled, and asked, "Can you
promise me something?"
"Of course," Kevin said.
"When I get this part done, and after I
kiss Teddy, I want you to give me the greatest bear hug that you have ever
given me," Hannah said.
"I will. I promise," Kevin said.
"In fact, I will give you one right now." The siblings hugged each
other.
"Thank you for being there for me,
Kevin," Hannah said.
"What are big brothers for, eh?"
Kevin said.
Hannah smiled. "I love you."
"I love you, too. Now, come on. You have
a wedding that is calling your name," Kevin said.
"Do me a favor," Hannah said,
turning around.
"What?" Kevin asked.
"Will you carry my train? I really don't
want to get dirt and grass stains on it," Hannah said.
"If mum was here, she would say, 'My
little one is growing up'," Kevin said, and laughed. They laughed, and
entered the church. "Good luck," Kevin said, and gave her a kiss on
the cheek.
"Thank you," Hannah said.
"It's time," Rose said, and handed
Hannah her beautiful flower bouquet.
The flower girl started to descend down the
aisle, gracefully sprinkling the white and red roses on the floor. Everyone
awed at the cute flower girl. Then Jessica, Rachel, and Rose walked down the
aisle. Rose found Jack in an instant, and stared at her beloved husband. Jack
stared back, and remembered their wedding day. It was one of the happiest days
of his life. The girls stepped to the side, and the Wedding March
started to play. Teddy's father walked down the aisle with Hannah. As the two
passed the aisles, each row stood up. Hannah's heart was pounding, and so was
Teddy's. Teddy and Hannah kept eye contact all through the ceremony. They did
not stutter with their "I do's", did not drop each other's wedding
rings, and the kiss was perfect.
Kevin came towards Hannah. "Well done,
little sis," Kevin said, and gave Hannah a huge hug.
"Thank you," Hannah whispered.
Kevin nodded and started to exit the chapel.
Teddy and Hannah smiled at each other.
"Well, are you ready for the reception?" Teddy asked.
"Ready as I will ever be," Hannah
said. They opened the doors, walked through the arbor, and saw everyone
clapping their hands.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. and Mrs.
Williams," Teddy's father said. Teddy kissed Hannah on her cheek.
"Well, come on everyone. Let's start the
reception," Teddy's mother said.
Teddy, Hannah, Jack, Rose, Kevin, Rachel,
Donald, and Jessica were seated at the huge table located in the front. There
was a small band consisting of the bass cello, the cello, the viola, the
violin, and the French horn. The reception started with dancing. Jack and Rose
practically danced together through the whole ceremony, except when they were
holding their children, eating, or sipping their champagne.
"Remember our first dance?" Jack
asked.
Rose giggled. "How could I forget? It
was on the Titanic during dinner."
"That was a while ago now, wasn't
it?" Jack asked.
"Yes, but one of the many things that
hasn't changed about you is your dancing skills," Rose said. Jack and Rose
laughed; she sighed.
"You know what is weird?" Jack
asked.
"What?" Rose asked.
"That Kyle and Samantha will be doing
the exact same thing," Jack said.
Rose smiled, and laid her head against Jack's
chest. "I know Jack, I know," Rose said. Jack kissed Rose's head, and
rubbed his hand against her back.
*****
"I love weddings," Rachel said to
Kevin.
"They're nice, aren't they?" Kevin
asked, looking around.
"Nice? They are absolutely
gorgeous," Rachel said.
"You're right," Kevin said.
*****
"Can you ever picture yourself doing
this someday?" Donald asked Jessica.
"Oh, definitely. Why, if someone asked
me this minute, I would be up for it," Jessica said.
Donald placed his face next to Jessica's.
"Promise?" Donald whispered. The lips were so soft in Jessica's ears
that it would make her fall asleep. Jessica nodded her head.
Donald bent down on one knee, and opened a
little velvet box from his coat pocket. There was a silence among the party,
and the music stopped. "Jessica, will you marry me?" Donald asked.
The diamond engagement ring sparkled in the
sunlight. Everyone had their hand over their chest or their hand over their
mouth. Jessica had happy tears running down her face.
"Yes," Jessica said, and nodded.
"I think this will be a wedding we will never
forget," Teddy said to Hannah.
"Well, of course. It's ours,"
Hannah said.
Teddy gave Hannah a kiss on the lips. "I
love you," Teddy said, and rubbed his hand against her cheek.
"I love you, too." Hannah smiled.
