HEARTS ARE BROKEN, LIVES ARE SHATTERED
Chapter Six
Rose awoke and felt refreshed. Suddenly, she
noticed Jack just staring at her. "What are you staring at?" she
asked him.
"Everything," he replied. They kissed
and got dressed, when Rose felt a sharp pain run through her abdomen.
"Jack!" she called. Wait! I'm
only seven months along! she thought. Jack ran into the bedroom and saw
Rose standing there in pain.
"Rose! What's wrong?" he asked.
"Jack, I'm having the baby," she
replied. Emily heard the word baby and ran into the room.
"Rose, what's the matter?" she
asked.
Rose screamed, and said, “I’m having the
baby." Emily got Joseph and called the doctor. When the doctor got there,
he told Jack to wait outside.
Six Hours Later
The doctor walked out after the delivery and
saw Jack. "Mrs. Dawson is all right. She's weak, but after having triplets—"
"Triplets?" Jack asked.
"Yes, two boys and a girl. She's not
naming them until you get in there," the doctor said. Jack walked into the
room and saw Rose holding two babies and Emily holding another.
"Congratulations, Jack. This is your
daughter," Emily said. Jack could tell she was holding back tears.
"Well, Rose, you and I are very lucky to
have such beautiful babies," Jack said.
"Yes. Now, come here and see your sons,"
Rose replied. Jack took a son in his arms and a single tear slid down his
cheek.
"Our daughter is going to be named Zoë
Alyssa Dawson, and this little one," he said, referring to the son he was
holding, "will be named Michael Adam Dawson."
"Well, this baby is Lucas Alec
Dawson," Rose said. The Dawsons looked at the three babies that would
cause them pain, joy, and laughter.
