HEARTS ARE BROKEN, LIVES ARE SHATTERED
Chapter Eight
Three Months Later
"You stupid jerk! You dumped me for
Mandie!" Felicity shouted. Lucas had just broken up with her. Rose hated the
fighting, but she knew it was coming. Jack went into Lucas' room and had a talk
with him.
"I know how you feel. I broke up with my
girl. Every day, she walked up to me and asked me why I broke up with
her," Jack explained. Over in Felicity's room, Felicity was crying on
Rose's shoulder.
"I know, honey. My beau broke up with me
when I was your age. I cried every night," she said calmly. When Lucas
walked into Felicity's room, he walked over to her and gave her a hug.
Felicity knew he was saying good-bye, but
when he opened his mouth, one word came out, "Sorry."

Over the next six months, Jack and Rose
watched as their babies dated and broke up. Their most exciting moment came
when Zoë went out with a boy named Josh Bolton. Two weeks later, Lucas went out
with Clarissa and Michael went out with Felicity. Rose laughed. This was her
idea of close relations.
Jack came home one day and found Rose sitting
on the couch. "Jack, I have some news--good and bad," she said.
"Tell me the bad first," he said.
"Clarissa's just turned thirteen, as you
know, but she's pregnant..." Rose said. She burst into tears.
"Whose is it? Lucas'?" Jack asked,
starting up the stairs to his son's room.
"Jack, sit down. It’s her new
boyfriend's, Lance Jacob," Rose replied. Clarissa came down the stairs and
saw Jack. She walked over to him and hugged him, crying.
"The good news would help now,"
Jack said after Clarissa left.
"I'm pregnant," Rose said, and Jack
hugged her tightly. While Rose and Clarissa went through their pregnancies,
they had everybody at their sides, Lance at Clarissa's side and Jack at Rose's
side. On the morning of November 29, 1926, Clarissa had twins, two girls.
Lance walked into the room Clarissa was in. When
he got there, he was greeted by Clarissa and handed a baby. "Lance, these
are your daughters. I named this little angel Catherine Marie Jacob,"
Clarissa said.
Lance looked down at Clarissa. He now knew
that he loved her. "Well, this little one is Devin Regina Jacob." The
two teenagers sat there, looking at each other and the two babies.
When Rose had her baby, Jack was there
through the whole thing. On the morning of December 5, 1926, Nicholas Andrew
Dawson was born. The whole family was there to see it. One special person in
particular was Ruth Marie Holloway. She had married a man named Patrick
Holloway in 1922 and had her name changed from DeWitt Bukater to Holloway.
After everybody left, Rose, Jack, Clarissa, Lance, Lucas, Michael, Zoë, and Felicity
had a chance to talk to her. After the talk, Ruth Holloway was brought back
into the family. They had yet to have a chance to talk to Caledon Hockley.
