IF THAT'S WHAT IT TAKES
Epilogue

Upon hearing of their children in town from Father Andrews, who had found Jack and Rose, the Dawsons and Bukaters raced to St. Peter's. They found Jack and Rose lying together, obviously having killed themselves. They were stunned and sat down in the pews, not saying a word. Ruth and Sarah were both crying, while James and Patrick tried to figure out what had happened. Finally, Father Andrews showed up. He had tears in his eyes and looked regretful.

"I am so sorry for what has happened," he said, coming up and standing in front of the church. He glanced back at Jack and Rose, still lying there together, before turning around and continuing. "See what your fighting has led to?" he yelled. "See what it has done? Because of you, these two lovers suffered and died!" Father Andrews went on, telling the whole story of Jack and Rose and their love. By the end, even James and Patrick had tears in their eyes at the thought of their children. "All are punished!" Father Andrews finished. "All are punished!"

The story of their children led the Dawsons and the Bukaters to stop fighting. In the end, they became great friends and discovered that they liked each other's company, even if it took the deaths of their children for them to figure it out. James and Patrick ended up having Jack and Rose buried together and had one headstone made for both of them.

I will risk everything,
I will fight,
I will bleed.
I will lay down my life,
If that's what you need.
Every second I live,
That's the promise I make,
That's what I'll give,
If that's what it takes…

The End.
