JACK AND ROSE: TOGETHER FOREVER
Chapter One
Jack sat nervously at the dinner table in his
New York apartment, trying to read the daily paper. It was the night before he
and Rose got married, and Jack was worried that Rose might have second
thoughts, or maybe back out. As he watched the minutes go by on the clock, Jack
wondered what Rose was doing right now, was she at home or was she out doing
something. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Jack jumped up and opened
the door. His friend, Bryan Foster, was there.
"Bryan what brings you over here so late
it's almost 9:00pm. Is something the matter?" Jack asked his friend.
"Well, nothings the matter, but I was
walking over to the Shop-and-Go, when I ran into Rose. She seamed to be walking
over here. I asked her what she was doing and she said she was going to slide
this note under your door." Bryan handed Jack a folded up note, and Bryan
continued.
"So anyway I asked her why she was going
to give you a note, and she said something about not seeing you till tomorrow
and asked if I would give it to you. And I told her yes."
"Well thank you," Jack told Bryan.
"Your welcome, We'll I better go. Dianna
will wonder what happened to me. See you later. Bye!" Bryan turned and
left, leaving Jack alone in the doorway.
"Bye!!" Jack called after him
wondering what the note said. He closed the door and went over to the couch and
sat down on it. Jack stared at the letter for a minute wondering if he should
open it up. After a few minutes of staring at the beautifully written My Jack
on the front in Roses' handwriting, he opened the note up. It said:
My Dear Jack,
I know we aren't supposed to see each
other until tomorrow, but I had a very hard day knowing you're right down the
street and I can't talk to you, or see you for that matter. So I decided to
write you a letter, or a long note in this case. Everything at Brittany's
apartment is going fine. We are having a great time together! But even though I
have Brittany, I still miss you very much. Jack, I absolutely can't wait for
tomorrow! I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. So how has your day
been? OK I hope. I got your wedding gift today. I really hope you will like it.
Well I am going to help Britt with dinner now. I love you Jack. Remember we are
getting married tomorrow at 11:30pm at the St. Paul's church on Fremont Ave. I
will see you then. I love you, and remember 'Make it count.'
All my love forever,
Rose
Jack closed up the 'note' and stood up and
looked at the small clock on the table; it read 9:14. He walked over to the
window and looked up at the moon, it was almost full. 'Tomorrow night it will
be' he thought as he continued to look up at the moon.
Rose paced around the living room in her
friend Brittany's apartment. She and Jack had agreed to spend the day and night
before they're wedding apart, as was tradition. Little did she know how hard it
would be. She couldn't sleep; there were just way too many things on her mind.
Rose looked at the clock, it was 9:15. 'I wonder if Jack has gotten my letter,
note, yet. Probably, Bryan is very responsible' Rose thought as she walked over
too the window. She looked out at the moon, it was almost full.
"I love you Jack" Rose whispered
aloud and than after looking at the moon for a few minutes longer, she finally
went to bed.
Jack stood looking out at the moon for a few
more minuets before saying out loud. " I love you Rose." He smiled
and walked off too bed.
